Beef short plate and pork belly were very well
marinated, with 6 sauces to choose from, as well as extra salt and pepper for those with a stronger taste. At only ~$5 for 100g of karubi beef short plate, the quality was very surprising! A very strong beefy taste complimented with the sauces. Definitely worth a try.

Think of grain-fed wagyu with a marbling score of seven to eight (Wagyu Grade A4 & above). The premium wagyu is not only remarkably marbled, but it is also packed with a distinctive umami flavour and delicate tenderness.
.
Wagyu steak set at S$19.80 (120g) and S$29.80 (200g).

Yakiniku Like at Paya Lebar is the first store in Singapore for the famous Japanese Yakiniku chain. Their creative no fuss grilling dining concept and affordable prices have earned them long queues and rave reviews.

The beef Short Plate was so damn good. Nice and fatty, and screamed good quality (for the super affordable price). There is a difference between grills using racks and those like a hotplate. With their rack grill the meat tasted smoky and caramelised as the flames kissed the meat. The pork Jowl, as usual had very nice intramuscular fat that benefited from the grilling. The belly was quite nice, decent quality. Many sauces to try, which was pretty fun.

Overall good quality yakiniku, and given the price (paid about 10 bucks/pax for 150g of meat total, if you pick the right meats) just makes it super worth it. Can't stop thinking of the grilled meats and can't wait to be back

I ordered the Karubi Set which consisted of 100g Beef Short Plate along with the rice, soup and kimchi (or salad). This costed $8.90 nett price, in fact everything on the menu was at nett price. How cheap is that!! There’s even 3 sizes for rice, and there’s no need for top-ups.

This place is really unique especially for solo diners because there are seats that have individual grills. Not only that, their special suction won’t leave you smelling like bbq after your meal!

Really really great quality of meat, accompanied with an array of sauces, personally liked dipping mine in the authentic manner; pepper and salt. Its so affordable as well! Service was on point, food came rlly quick. Overall a very pleasant experience, 100% would come back!

The grills in Yakiniku Like are smokeless and odourless. How this works is a special suction that sucks in the smoke from below the grill.

Other than the ease of solo dining, the quality of meats are pretty good for its price. Have you tried this yet? Let us know what you think!
