Herbal roast duck rice for lunch? Particularly impressed with this hawker version of a Dian Xiao Er herbal roasted duck-alike as the duck meat exudes a harmonious herbal infusion, without being overwhelming or heavy on the tastebuds. Meat was tender and easily torn off the bones. Served with the herbal gravy drizzled over. The char siew, however, was a miss. Not just because there’s no fatty meat, but the lean meat was over-roasted till its edges were rock-hard. Stick to the herbal roast duck and all will be good. And not to forget their sambal chili which brings along an impression of hae bee hiam.

They have a separate outlet at Blk 323 Bukit Batok Street 33.

It‘s quite uncommon to find herbal roasted duck in hawker centers. The Herbal Roasted Duck ($12 for quarter) from YaLoh Herbal Roast Duck at Golden Mile Food Centre is tender and juicy and the sweet and savoury herbal sauce goes really well with rice. We also ordered braised tofu and roasted duck head for sides and they are drizzled in a rich dark sauce. Pretty good and affordable!

The herbal taste of this plate of herbal duck is just nice, well balanced with the marinade of the duck. The roasted duck skin is quite crispy and the duck meat is tender and with the right amount of fats. Duck rice with taupok will cost $5.50

I've been frequenting this place for a few times now, and I really like this shop. Well, likely because I love the herbal duck from Dian Xiao Er, or if people know about Ya Wang or HaoBi Duck from JB. For $4.50 you can enjoy a plate of roast duck rice, paired with a sweet and savory herbal sauce. Simply worth it!

A cheaper (and maybe better) alternative to the herbal roast duck from 店小二 at only $4.50. The meat is decently tender, and the skin is delightfully crispy. But the star is the sauce, which covers any gaminess with a pleasant sweetness and fragrant herbal notes.

Was having dire cravings for Ya Wang! But oh, train tickets to jb are sold out for the weekends (thanks &no thanks to the upcoming festive)! I recalled trying this really awesome herbal roast duck at a potluck in office just last month. I thought it's from DXE after trying a few pieces of the duck breast! Only to realised that it's actually from YaLoh! (Yes, it's that good &caught my liking at such a blind tasting)

Compared to Ya Wang, the duck exudes a more prominent roast fragrance which i absolutely adore! Herbal gravy wise, it's alot less salty and on the sweeter side. Meat near the bones can be a teeny bit more chewy. So i would say the DXE's one has a better texture overall, but this is definitely enough to get my herbal duck cravings fixed! $13 for a quarter duck! &Oh, the soup is light and has some root vegetables in it!

(Maybe I'll trying requesting for just duck breast next time! COS I LOVE BREAST MEAT!) 😅
