Kovan 209 has not 1, not 2, but 3 great bar chor mee stores. And Yam Mee is the most standout of the 3.
It has the longest queue.
And the aroma of the BCM totally salivates me.
It's home made meatball tasted superb as well.
Cheap and affordable
Itβs hard for one to miss the snaking queue for Yam Mee Teochew Fishball Noodles at Kovan food centre. After tasting their fishball noodles, we would say that the queue was definitely worth it! We were quick to slurp down the springy meekia which was coated with the perfect blend of soy sauce, chilli, vinegar, and pork lard. We feel that the noodles are best eaten together with the minced meat and fishball in one big mouthful to experience the explosion of flavours from all the ingredients! We will definitely join the queue for this comforting bowl of noodles again if we are in the area next time. For all the east siders, do you know that there is another branch that is run by the owner's daughter at Bedok 511 food centre? If you happen to be in the area, do support this aspiring young hawker by giving this wonderful bowl of fishball noodles a try!
The ingredients inside were pretty good apart from the bad noodles.
I would say this stall is a better option than the other two famous minced meat noodle stalls as this one has a good portion. Fa Ji Minced meat noodle is now reduced to a pathetic portion.

Good balance of chili and vinegar. Queue moved pretty fast althou it was crowded.
Item ordered: Mee Pok Dry ($3.50) - I love how there's so many different types of ζ, super satisfying!
Food: 4.5/5 - I had to add chili & vinegar to make it a little more tasteful but otherwise it is actually really good
Ambiance: 3/5 - hawker centre setting, and pigeons around >.<
Service: 5/5 - aunty was patient :)
Overall experience: 4/5
Thanks to a colleague who bought it one fine day, the whole department is hooked on this old school biscuit, devouring one giant packet within a day. It looks seemingly simple like that typical biscuit that we all know, and I'm not really a fan of that unless I've got coffee/ milo ha. But this I probably can binge eat. Tasted as though it was freshly made - very crisp, more fragrant, and not as sweet even with all that sugar!
Told a skeptical colleague he'll regret eating it cos' you can't stop at oneβπΌ needless to say I was right HAHA! No geotag as I have no idea where this is from except it's from Kovan Market. Will hunt for it once my stash runs outπ.
