Made a wrong decision to dapao.... Dine in should be a wiser choice! Small dried fish added the crunchy texture and additional flavor to the noodle. I'll come back for the dine - in dinner next time!

A familiar name (probably) for office workers in the CBD area, hungry stomachs after a few drinks at the pubs, or just supper-goers. Went straight for their minced pork noodles, which at $4, is very affordable. You’ve got your usual toppings of minced and lean meat, meatballs, and a mushroom (😐). The addition of ikan bilis was a new thing for me but it certainly added some crunch to the dish. Noodles were well-cooked, but I felt that the sauce wasn’t vinegary enough (compared to Ming Fa, or even the airport’s T3 Kopitiam’s ba chor mee). Although it’s a ‘lighter’ version of the ba chor mee that I know, I still wouldn’t mind enjoying it.

Just a hop, skip and jump from the old location.

A craving for meesua got me here. Super like the soft but not soggy meesua. Mild chilli. The finish left a pleasant vinegary twang on the palate.

Simply satisfying.

Drama drama with the mee sua peeps at Yan Kee Noodle House! The original has moved across the street and in its old spot, an exact replica has taken root. We’ve tried both so you don’t have to, and it’s safe to say, the original (that’s now opposite BK Eating House) won hands down. Smooth mee sua slicked in the lardy, slightly vinegary sauce easily beat the imposter’s too sour version. Now in an air-conditioned space, it’s quite amazing that they’ve retained the same prices though you’ll definitely have to wait for your food (we sat there for over 40 mins after we ordered waiting).

Checked out Yan Kee Noodle House’s new digs (just right across the street and its old location at BK Eating House) and love that it’s now in an air-conditioned shophouse! The prices are still the same, noodles still well-cooked, and the same balanced seasoning. Waiting time is also just as long as before (esp during lunch time), but at least now you can wait with your drink inside an air-conditioned area (they have outdoor seats too).

Get the set with a drink for $5.20!
