Yang guo fu!! Heard so many raving about it as one of the best mala, and first time trying malatang for me. As a famous chain, it's soups are addictive - especially the mala beef broth. Their tomato soup is on the more tangy side (also delicious). Plus you can customize your spice level, and I find the mild version so hearty.

During this 2HA, there's a rare opportunity to support them without the long queue, and have an additional 20% off.

Some must have ingredients include their dumpling, cheese chicken ball, spinach noodles?

Ps. It's $2.88/100g no matter what you take - so go for the meat? 😜

Finally tried the Mala Soup (麻辣汤) from Yang Guo Fu and I was mistaken to think that the queue would have died down 6 months after their grand opening in Singapore last year😂 Thankfully, the mala soup did not disappoint after the long wait!

I had the Mala Beef Soup and the Medium Spicy (中辣) level is actually very manageable. I find it less spicy and oily than the usual 麻辣香锅 equivalent, but nonetheless the broth is still very robust and flavourful. I picked my favourite ingredients and it amounted to $19.60, which is pretty reasonable given that I might have over-ordered😛 There is a wide variety of ingredients to choose from and I’m pleasantly surprised to find that they have frozen tofu (冻豆腐), something I usually find in hotpot restaurants only.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with their mala soup and I can’t wait to try the dry version someday:)!

Decided on a change (finally), and got the tomato broth instead. Really enjoyed the flavour! Could be made spicy if you add chilli in it and then it's a tough fight between this and their mala tang

Heard it famous in China, taste overall ok, staffs friendly and price is calculated based on weight, though the queue slow due to their management system (Covid—19 period, phase 2)
