Nestled on the second floor of Fortune Centre, I always see a long queue at this quaint little shop and finally decided to drop by. The queue moved rather quickly and I decided to get the Soup Set of 3 (from $5) to try a variety. Chose the (from left) Almond Black Glutinous Rice, Almond Black, and Tang Yuan in Ginger Soup. They came in smaller tasting portions but I thought they were still sufficient for 1~2 pax. Special shout-out to the black glutinous for being one of the better ones out there as well as the ginger soup which was oh-so-gingery. Will definitely head back to try their other items, especially the chendol which I saw on many tables.

Switched up my usual order of Yat Ka Yan’s Chendol with their Walnut Almond Paste ($4). Smooth, sweet, and hearty; the warm paste was so creamy and not gelat at all. The taste of almond paste was a little overpowering but I still got the distinct nuttiness of the walnut in the mix so all’s good. Would certainly try the Walnut Sesame Paste next time~

A little gem at Fortune Centre selling traditional Chinese desserts, friendly & heart warming shop owners, rustic old school decorations fills up the every nook & cranny of the shop. A place to revisit again & again.

Had their orh nee, and really love it. comes in $3/$5.50. $3 portion is just nice, the texture is smooth & dense and its not as sweet as the other shops Ive tasted.

My friends have their barley beancurd w/ tang yuan, cheng tng, both are equally as good! Not as sweet too.

The shop also sells savoury menu such as chee cheong fun, noodles etc.

I really was blown away by the broth the previous time but now that I'm having it again I feel like it's quite mild actl, to leave a significant impact on most people. It's still very good tho, ofc, but abit salty. Their YTF items are all average, all fried no less

The CCF is not bad on its own, there's a light oil, and it comes with a ubiquitous sambal. However you can only taste the miso broth once you pour it over

That's a terrible name by itself, because the glutinous rice only provides texture and there's absolutely no description of what gives it flavour

Here's it's some chye poh and scallion oil or sth? This was very aromatic and the texture was on point too. Lovely stuff. Just very very hot unfortunately

Authentic bowl of chendol, one of the best that I’ve eaten!
