Made a visit to Yee Kee Specialist Roasted Duck with a few friends who have raved about their charsiew. Ordered three different meats to share; roast duck, charsiew and roasted pork, and while the roast duck and roast pork were decent, it was the charsiew that blew me away. Both the lean and fatty ones were good, though the lean one seemed a tad drier. However, the charsiew's charred exterior was deliciously sweet, and the fatty parts were chunky carrying loads of bite which is what makes it so good. The stall's last day of operations would be on 29th August 2015, so do head down for a taste of the charsiew before it is all lost.
If you view this before 29 August 2015 and like this stall roast meat then go try it for the last time. This traditionally roasted meat eatery will be gone as the elderly couple want to retire. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 August 14
I enjoyed the highly crispy roast pork most. That skin!!!πThe fatty char siew was nice too - sufficiently sweet and well charred at the edges. It's true their roast duck is nothing remarkable , nevertheless I enjoyed the skin ( much more than the meat).their preserved vege soup was perfect to complete the meal. In fact the best soup I've had from a roast meats stall. πβ¨πParking is easy here and I now have the perfect excuse to head to the Kampong Bahru area for some cafehopping!
1kg fatty out-of-the-world Char Siew, 1/2 kg Roasted Pork, 1/2 Roasted Duck. All for $78. 6 of us, only 5 plates of rice. Not difficult to guess who is the odd one out. ππ After this meaty feast, we had impressive Ang Ku Kueh for desserts! ππ

Some might not know among all the roasted meat, Char Siew is one of the hardest to master. To achieve the flavorful and char-ed layer and soft and tender meat, take years to master and even more patient! Char Siew require long hours of slow roast and a constant spread of char Siew sauce. .

The char Siew wasn't as sweet compared to the rest. For only S$36 per KG, definitely consider as a Good buy. .
