Fanciest yoshinoya yet but the dim lighting is really weird for a chain. The design might have improved? but the food just gets worse gdi

Very, very little beef for large. It's very thinly sliced so this must have been like 100g? Beef was tough too, only made bearable because of how thinly it was sliced. Furthermore it's very salty.

Veggie was pretty sad for 1.5nett add on (large beef bowl has the same amount of beef at 8nett). Furthermore it's drenched in mayo, which defeats the purpose of eating veggies? Not to mention this wasn't even shown on the picture

I asked for extra gravy which is the dark sauce pictured here. That was ok, pretty strong. Miso soup was instant but at least it's not terrible.

Last pain point is that there's no more shichimi, it's just a super spicy togarashi(chili powder). Not sure if it was shichimi last time but that would have been a lot better. Oh and also there's way too much rice for this measly amount of beef. In fact there's too much rice probably for one pax to finish

Terrible

Karage don ($8.9)
The karage in here is crispy but not as tender as I expected. It's just okay. It comes with seaweed soup which is prettt good.

The waiter are very nice and the restaurant is clean so I give it 4 stars, but I don't recommend the karaage.

Have you tried the new concept menu items from Yoshinoya? Selected branches of Yoshinoya now serve Tonkatsu Set ($10.90). Dunk that thick crispy pork cutlet in the dense savoury sauce. The set is completed with a bowl of fluffy Japanese rice, tamagoyaki (omelette roll) and miso soup. 😊

Yoshinoya rice bowl has been updated!

Upgrades
1. To make the vegetable rice bowl more attractive, the selection of the vegetable has been changed to sweet pumpkin and lotus roots. Definitely an upgrade from previous broccoli, cauliflower and carrots.

2. Deserts
There is now cakes to be chosen as part of the meal and Ala Carte. This place has potential to be a place for dessert or tea time

3. Selection of drinks
Wider selection of Japanese tea beyond your usual green tea

4. Fancy decoration and interior
This would be the main reason for me to come here besides the comforting beef bowl. The place has now transformed into a cozy and warm place and is not totally different from the usual fast food setting.

Coupled with the friendly and approachable staff ready to introduce the new dishes and concept, the place was very attractive to dine in.
