The White Restaurant's signature dish is their white seafood beehoon (白米粉) which attracts foodies nationwide to make the long and inconvenient trek up north. I was in fact surprised to learn that @jooeunchung has been there before and loved the dish. They have since opened several outlets islandwide but we decided to drop by as we were in the area.

The beehoon themselves are full of flavours. My recommendation is to squeeze the lime provided over the beehoon as the zesty and citrus notes of the lime will elevate the taste of the beehoon which has soaked in the natural sweetness of the seafood and the smoky wokhei. The dish is also topped with generous portions of prawns, squid and eggs. The broth is undoubtedly the star of the show. It is thick, bold and yet clean. I like that they pack the broth separately when you do a takeaway as it ensures that your beehoon do not become dry and soggy.

My verdict is that this is well worth the trip up north!

We’re still trying to stay home more these days and feed ourselves equally well so finally driving to get ourselves some 白米粉 from the original Sembawang location!! Quite excited for this as our dad is always saying that the beehoon from the original store is still better than the other outlets🤔 - true enough it really is!! Every strand of the beehoon is coated in that thick flavourful gravy, yums!! Portion wise they are really generous, we could totally share a small one between both of us☺️

This was crispy and juicy! There were crunchy water chestnuts in the roll as well (iirc) which is a big plus for me, because it makes the textures even better.

This was so delicious! The gravy was packed full of flavour and wokhei, with a good consistency - slightly starchy but not goopy. It was satisfying slurping up the beehoon, and the eggs gave additional depth to the gravy, especially when served hot. One of the best, if not the best, 白米粉s I’ve had :)

Our must-order and go-to since its first Original Sembawang White Beehoon outlet — The Original White Beehoon (Small $6, Medium $10, Large $15). The original stall still cooks the best since my parents brought me along when I was younger around the year 2012-2015, I'm glad to see them expanding so much now! 😍Every slurp of the noodles is coated with their thick savoury eggy gravy, thus ordering medium will be the perfect size for maximum satisfaction 👌🏻😋
