So, we settled for the next best thing – crispy fried chicken with paper-thin skin that was so crisp it melts in the mouth beautifully. There were five of us; hence, we figured a small would not be enough. We settled for the large instead, and bear in mind that this was after our sake steamboat rampage. But in our defence, they didn't have a medium and one of us just joined dinner. Of course, we finished every single juicy and five spice-spiked piece of it including every last slurp of the hor fun. We used too much energy from laughing what. Ok, that's all.

The prawns are as fresh as they come...such glorious sweetness and that inimitable crunch with every bite. The sake-spiked superior stock permeates beautifully into the shellfish, adding such depth to its natural flavour. The almost crunchy black fungus works perfectly with the meaty shimeiji while the silky mung bean threads — tied in a bunch to maximise bite — complements the thin discs of asparagus. Ok, that's all.

Can't wait to outpro from reservist and back to civilian world in a few hours time! On a side note, where can I get good egg tarts (flaky or crispy crust) in Singapore? For now, Tong Heng's Diamond egg tarts with coconut strips is the undisputed champion. The velvety egg custard and flaky crust is just simply irresistible. I can totally imagine myself biting onto the piping hot egg tart that's fresh off the oven now.

After being cooped up in office for so long and eating mainly canteen food everyday, we finally went out for a team bonding lunch today at Yum Cha Restaurant! Definitely not my top pick for a dim sum restaurant, but this will suffice for now. Decently priced and food came fresh and prompt. Special shoutout to the Steamed Custard Bun with Salted Egg Yolk (蒸流沙奶皇包, 3 for $4.60) as not many restaurants are able to keep up with the quality and consistency due to the surge in demand. This 流沙包 can definitely 流.
