Most people like to visit this place for their teochew porridge but I’ll always see it as a zichar place that I used to frequent for dinner since I was a kid. 🤤🤤 ⁣⁣
Hahah, don’t say West side don’t have good food hor. This place is always packed during weekends. 🤪🤪 ⁣⁣
Must try dishes😌⁣⁣
1: Herbal chicken, the meat damm tender, shiok! 👍🏻⁣⁣
2: Hei Zhou, I like it how it was crispy but yet not so oily, seems almost air fried. 🤪*mindblown* ⁣⁣
3: Hot plate beancurd 😌 ⁣⁣

The initial plan was to dine here. But I was running late + there was a massive traffic jam due to roadworks. So we ended up dabaoing back home for lunch! We were shocked when the bill for this came up to $35.40 for 3 pax! (Haha but ok, there are 3 meat dishes) we had the fish cake ($6), salted egg minced meat (reviews said it was $9), ngor hiang and prawn paste fried chicken wings (we are guessing this costs $8-$9 each) and chap chye (guessing $4+)? We ordered 3 porridge as well, and the portions were huge! (As compared to dining in where you usually only get a small bowl of porridge). I liked that the fishcake tasted fresh! The salted egg minced meat was abit too salty for me. The prawn paste chicken wing didn't have the strong prawn paste taste (like yishun hawker's). Ngor hiang was good (but I don't think there was prawns in it!) This place is actually more famous for its steamed fish / curry fish head. But it was too expensive for our pockets hehe! #burpple #burpplesg #zaishuncurryfishhead

Worth a journey to the west is this zi char stall tucked in a humble coffeeshop. Enjoy the freshest catch either in the Curry Fish Head or the stellar Steamed Fish with a delightful soy-based sauce. Complete the meal with the complex Bitter gourd With Egg and Salted Egg and tangy Golden Needle! Take note that they are closed on Wednesdays.

Lighter and slightly more watery than most, this was still delicious though

Time to go full trotter once more...
One of my favourite places to dine at ever since I was a young boy. Every single dish that they offer is delicious, just like how I remember it since I first had it ages ago. Was greeted by the da jie (now aunty liao) who knew me since I was a kid and her first reaction when she saw me after all this time was "小弟啊!上次看到你才小小而已,现在那么大了啊?娶老婆了没有?" The same can be said back to her. Last time your business small small only, now so big liao. Got Michelin bib some more leh! 😂

Our nutritionists would definitely disapprove. Regardless, a good Bib Gourmand spot in Jurong West for communal dining. Good morning!
