Zealand Bak Kut Teh has been my breakfast staple for many years and my final makan spot before I leave the island. The herbal soup is loaded with different parts of the pig, beancurd and mushrooms. Compared to the other BKTs in Malaysia, they are the most balanced without overdoing the herbs in their broth. The Bak Kut is very tender and comes off the bone easily. This is my favourite, the unusual winner amongst the usual suspects.
