I Love their springy noodles which is not so soggy. When you dip the fragrant wu xiang with the chili sauce, you can taste the hint of sweet and sour ! So shiok! The prawn cake is also very chewy ! Last but not least, the fried tofu that is so juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Worth my calories.

Nice Ngoh Hiang which is better than other places. One unique thing they served is sotong.

This is my favourite stall in Bukit Timah Food Centre. There is always a queue, but it is definitely worth the wait. Love the fried shrimp crackers and that spicy peanut sauce!

They have some pretty good prawn rolls and prawn wrapped in beancurd skin. And of cos the crispy fried prawn cracker. Chili was good too.

Break the shrimp cracker and dip the light crisps in the old school, gooey pink sauce of sugary sweet. Crisp cuttlefish, browned and stuffed, effuses a sinfully addictive fried fragrance. The orange cake rendition tasting lighter, is a soft, bouncy contrast. Dip a piece in zesty chilli, topped with the crunch of chopped onions and toasted ground peanuts to richen with spicy-sweetness. Pick up a slice of fish patty. Fried batter coats small fish chunks with mushy flour, delectably seasoned. Biting into a piece of ngoh hiang (meat roll), the crisp tofu skin flakes apart as you sink into densely packed juicy spiced and seasoned pork, subtly sweet. Soft fried tofu comes as a pleasantly light-flavoured contrast.

Consider the savoury compliment of fried beehoon (Small $1; Large $1.50) tossed with beansprouts for a heavier meal.

The fresh Teochew selection from Zhong Zhong Fried Spice #02-149 ($0.70-$2/piece) is refried upon order but surprisingly, doesn't leave you greasy. Not the healthiest but an understandable choice for the many having this early breakfast. Weekends demand you to ignite those tastebuds.

Zhong Zhong Fine Spice is a self-service stall that serves ngoh hiang (wu xiang). You'll find the usual ingredients like you tiao (dough fritters), pink sausages, and ngoh hiang (from $0.80), alongside more unique offerings like a Whole Stuffed Squid ($10). Tastemaker Vanessa Kou loves the less commonly seen battered fish, as well as the chilli sauce that comes with a splash of crunchy ground toasted peanuts. She also recommends getting a side of Bee Hoon (from $1) that is "expertly fried and nicely seasoned". All the ingredients are refried to order, and according to Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang, are "done well without being greasy", making this stall her favourite haunt (and her father's too!).
