@fangkocoffee is not your ordinary cafΓ©, as they are an Indonesian cafΓ© in a sea of Australian/European cafe’s in Singapore. Headlining their proudly Indonesian Chimken (yes, that is NOT a typo) mains menu is the Indomie Chimken, going at a super low price of ten bucks flat for this XL bowl.β €

This Indomie Chimken is (in)famous for having twenty one (!!!) spice levels, and I took the sage advice of one of my friends who tried the level five and experienced Dante’s Nine Circles of Hell. Yes, I went with level one, and it’s already incendiary enough to provoke a light sheen of sweat. The slow creeping spice is mercifully tempered by the sweetness of what I assume is kecap manis tossed into the sauce mix, as well as the fabulously flowing soft boiled egg.β €

The Chimken was definitely the main attraction here, as Fangko’s signature smashed chicken was possibly the moistest, most supple deep fried chicken I’ve had in recent memory. It’s simply but sufficiently salted, and relies on that fiery but flavourful chili sauce mix to give it that memorable feistiness. Seriously, ten bucks for fantastic fried chicken and a big bowl of spicy noodles? That’s a bargain and a half!β €
Thanks for the invite @fangkocoffee!

Super thick and strong peanut butter flavours I loved it!!!! Would totally get one more but this was definitely a calorie bomb 🀭🀭.

Fangko Melaka Brew ($6 - 8oz)

Butterfly Lychee soda ($7)

This was interesting! Toast was just slightly crispy at the edges but wouldn't mind the bread itself to be a bit softer. There's also a generous amount of avocado for πŸ₯‘ lovers!

First off, the fresh chicken leg was pretty tender! Tasted some lemongrass flavours from this dish, and the Peanut & Ikan bills were crispy, albeit just a little too salty. Sambal here was defo not as spicy as the chilli in the indomie, but great for those with lower spice tolerance.

Tucked at a corner in Hong Kong Street near Clarke Quay MRT, @fangkocoffee serves up pretty hearty Indonesian food!

Wet indomie (with Chimken) ($11)
Noodle could be cooked just a little shorter, but flavourwise this was slightly sweet and hearty to have. Chicken came with a good amount of spice!

You know the smashed chicken 𝐖𝐄𝐓 πˆππƒπŽπŒπˆπ„ ($𝟏𝟏) is hella good when it's on every tableπŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ— To give perspective on how popular this is, Fangko was sO PACKED that people resorted to standing outside to eat from takeaway boxes.

They make π†π‘πˆπ‹π‹π„πƒ 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐄 ($πŸπŸ’) a little differently hereπŸ§€ The cheese blankets the top, with a hearty spread of avocadoπŸ₯‘ in between well-buttered toasts instead.

For drinks, I'd recommend the πƒπ€π‘πŠ π‚π‡πŽπ‚πŽπ‹π€π“π„ 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄 ($πŸ•)!! Rich AF🍫🍫and not sweet. But if you're in need of caffeine, the smooth π…π€ππ†πŠπŽ πŒπ„π‹π€πŠπ€ 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐖 ($πŸ”) does the trick too.
