Besides coming in a hearty portion, this is one very attractive looking salad. Chef Darren's expert combination of roasted pumpkin, green beans, pickled beetroot, quinoa, dried cranberries, sprouts and seeds, all tossed in a whey dressing, conjures up a fresh combo that simply dazzles with multiple flavours and textures.
I couldn't resist adding on the house-smoked mackerel for $6 more because Burpple Tastemaker Julius Lim had highly recommended it. Well, the fish turned out to be really yummy on its own (gently tangy and soft to the bite) but even better when it played off the sweet elements in the salad.
Having had this dish for the first time today, I now understand why it is one of the most popular items on the menu.
