Not Worth It Oriole鈥檚 standard has dropped since my visit last year. Their truffle bacon mac and cheese didn鈥檛 have gooey cheese coating the macaroni evenly. Just not the way to do a good mac and cheese I suppose.

Southwestern Chicken It鈥檚 been a while, Oriole, and it was Entertainer that brought me back here! Not only enjoyed the coffee, food was fantastic! We had Grilled Chicken Breast and Fish Tacos (not in picture). Surprisingly, they were not dry at all! Flavours burst with every bite, and we could feel the chef鈥檚 effort in making sure its quality! Service-wise however, took a little suffer during weekends as the tables weren鈥檛 cleaned properly, and it was hard to get the wait staff鈥檚 attention.

Brunch Done RIGHT All hail @burpplebeyond again!!! This place was a true gem with breakfast comfort foods done right. We ordered a fully loaded (big breakfast with scrambled egg, toast, rocket, saut茅ed mushrooms, bacon and cheesy chicken sausage - what a spread right, I KNOW!!!), truffle bacon mac and cheese, salmon eggs benedict and capellini crabmeat. I was very happy with the fully loaded because I like having a variety of food on my plate and I鈥檝e got to say each item was well executed, especially the fluffy scrambled eggs. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quantity of the food - say NO to teeny weeny portions of cafe food. My only gripe would be that food was a little oily, especially when you get towards the end and see the plate or pan covered in a layer of oil. But overall, food was hearty and satisfying. I鈥檒l be back for more brunch with burpple beyond :)

Dak Kang Jung [$18] Crispy chicken tenders in a spicy, sweet glaze that is so crispy and sticky you鈥檒l coat everything in this! The spicy gojuchang red pepper paste adds a ton of flavors, spicy and savory, balanced by the sweet and acidic notes of the brown sugar and rice wine vinegar. The tteokbokki was soft and chewy, a lot better than most of my experience with it. Will definitely be back to try other items from this modern Korean tapas bar!

L.A Style Black Angus Kalbi [$26] Meltingly tender juicy bone-in beef short rib with a delicious Korean sweet soy marinade, which was an excellent complement to the generously marbled meat. Just look at that sear on the meat! Unlike American and European-style short ribs, which include a thick slice of bone-in beef, Korean-style short ribs are cut lengthwise across the rib bones resulting in a thin strip of meat. (Flaken meat) Nonetheless, you still get that mandatory fall off the bone texture! Enjoy this with the makgeolli (Korean rice wine). They serve the original along with tons of interesting flavors! Don鈥檛 miss out on the deal to try this using the 1-1 Burpple Beyond app (there are some exclusions, please check T&C, but this item is applicable for redemption from meat section)

L.A. Style Black Angus Kalbi ($26), Grilled Pork Belly ($26). Not a beef eater so I shan鈥檛 comment much on the L.A. style black angus kalbi, except that other comments in the group were that the meat was a little tough. The grilled pork belly was quite a hit; thinly sliced, grilled till slightly charred and seasoned with black pepper. Wonderful execution with garlic chips sprinkled on top that helps with an additional aroma. And when it gets too oily, there鈥檚 always their spicy house-made kimchi and korean lettuce with a creamy, refreshing Caesar dressing to balance it off. Thanks to #burpplebeyond for the 1-for-1!
