Lady boss was also sweet enough to let me try an assortment of her traditional Chinese snacks. The sweet potato balls were addictive with a thin crisp exterior and chewy sweet potato interior. While less crisp and airy compared to Taiwan night markets, we enjoyed the smooth and naturally fragrant sweet filling (good to know that zero sugar is added!). The muah chee was of enjoyable soft and chewy texture. Well-coated with either peanut or black sesame. Lemon Yakult & Lemon Lime ($3.00++ Each) I especially loved the Lemon Yakult. 👍🏻 If I remember correctly, there is bottle/jug version for the drinks at $8. Highly recommend both drinks to pair with the spicy food that this restaurant offers.

双椒味牛蛙 Red & Green Pepper Frog ($39.80++) Was intimidated by the exterior of this restaurant but decided to try it after walking past quite a few times. 😂 The frogs were fried before being stir fried with the red and green pepper broth. Quite a generous amount of frogs given, just nice for 2 big eaters to eat with rice. I especially love the garlics that were being stir fried with the frogs, so soft that they melted in my mouth 🤤 Highly recommended! Will definitely be back to try other flavours, including the soup versions.

Spicy Frog Ordered the 怪椒味 aka the spiciest flavor of the frog pot. The frogs are fried before cooking on the hotplates of your choice of flavour. So always rmb to submerge them a little more before eating. Been eating here from Chinatown and then now going to their newer outlet at Bugis Cube. There's discounted reservations using Eatigo.

葱香味牛蛙 This is the only bullfrog pot that is not spicy. It tastes equally good. The rest are spicy from one to four "chilly". I enjoyed the appetizer dish 汉阳招牌鸡, spicy mala chicken that's similar to 口水鸡 but much more sophisticated. It can also serve as the sauce to deep in if you want the bullfrog to have a little more spice.

Perilla Flavoured Frogs Perilla Flavoured Frogs ($39.80) . Missing this addictive tray of froggy goodness @wahkungfu_sg . The frog meat is first fried then left to simmer in the flavourful umami laden gravy elevated by the perilla leaves resulting in a tender texture with a thin crusty exterior. The soupy gravy was both slurpworthy and went well drizzled on rice. Thankfully, they offered free soup top-up! We opted for the mildly spicy version so that we could really taste the dish and not need to down liquids and fill ourselves up too quickly. Special mention also to the lamb skewers ($1.20/ea min 4 sticks per order). It was so good we ordered a 2nd portion in a flash. Prices here is a bit on the high side though.

Original / Black Sesame Soy Milk Tea The original soy milk tea comes with a layer of beancurd at the bottom, soy milk in the middle followed by a layer of rich and creamy soy milk foam then finished off with sprinkles of roasted soy powder and a stick of 3 chewy white jade balls. The sesame one is similar without the roasted soy powder but comes with a more nutty taste. The white jade balls were basically plain chewy mochi that goes well with the flavourful soy milk foam. The sesame ones are similar to the original except it comes coated with black and white sesame seeds. I personally preferred the original for its pure soy flavour but the sesame one was good with a strong nutty fragrance and taste to the beverage. Both flavours were creamy, not too sweet and it can get a little filling on the stomach. The price is also rather steep for a drink so I would recommend sharing it with someone else 》$6.20 (cold) / cup

Grape bobo's yakult drink 4.5nett This one was slightly better, the tea and the fruitiness worked well, but still could have been abit stronger overall

Ma La Tang [$3.07/100g] There are quite a few mala tangs around that we can’t take as they use a beef bone broth as base. The one here at the new 汤火功夫 doesn’t, and there are 3 flavours to choose from - spicy mala tang, dry mala and tomato broth. The well-balanced mala broth was creamy but not too thick, and had a very nice nuttiness. Try adding the 麻椒油 (peppercorn oil) from the condiments table for an extraaaa shiok hit of numbness! I must say that the price can add up quickly at $3.07/100g, but it’s the same price for all ingredients and there’s no gst & service charge (at least for now 😛). Soya Milk with a Twist! I can have their Original Soy Milk Tea with White Jade Balls everyday! I LOVE IT! It’s basically Soy Milk and Osmanthus Tea with tea jelly bits, topped with 3 mochi balls coated with cheese foam. Super yummy!

Original Soymilk Tea With White Jade Balls Kind of an interesting concept, but it's also just tau huay. Despite the tea, the drink is just soy milk to me. What's unique is the tasty soy foam on top, finished with soybean powder that tasted like peanut powder. Unpictured is also three mochi balls that kinda made up for the $6 price tag. Although bland, they went really well with the foam.

Matcha soymilk The matcha one is surprisingly less strong, somehow they suppress each other and it's not as good

Signature tofu drink Tofu pudding at the bottom, floral soymilk in the middle, and a slightly salty very strong lovely soy? Cheese foam on top. I can see why ppl like this, mix slightly before drinking, I am abit unsettled about the floralness, cos where does that come from? Seems very artificial

Trending soya bean drink Solved the big mystery. White jade balls turned out to be glutinous rice balls, like unflavoured tang yuan. The soya tasted ok

Black Sesame Soy Milk Tea- $5.20 Got it warm, 0% sugar & without base as it contains gelatin. Soy milk itself is smooth, rich & thick, topped with creamy black sesame foam that's slightly sweet & nutty. After sometimes when the black sesame foam mix with the soy milk, there'll be a slight nutty taste 😋 it's quite filling & healthy!
