Spicy Salmon Don Le Coq’s Spicy Salmon Don! I topped up $1 to change sushi rice to quinoa and it was definitely the right decision to do so. My dinner partner was so jealous of my quinoa (cus he didn’t change his) the entire dinner! ⁣ ⁣ They were super generous with the salmon, I was literally left with chunks of salmon towards the end of my bowl. Freshness and the texture of the salmon was acceptable for this price (also because I had burpple beyond, it was 1-1!!!). ⁣ ⁣ Would definitely go back again to try the other signatures on the menu esp the signature roasted chicken!⁣

Delicious Roast Chicken with Quinoa Came here for lunch using 1-1 burpple beyond, ordered the roast chicken rice and the truffle beef don. Firstly notice the serving size difference, the Beef Don was tiny !! It barely tickles the stomach, even though its was same price ($16.9 nett) as the chicken dish which came with two chicken legs and a decent amount of quinoa. I'd feel robbed if I was paying full price. The roasted chicken was delicious, tender, well seasoned and the quinoa tasted like chicken rice but with Quinoa instead which is much healthier. It was one of the recommended dishes on the menu. Won't be coming back for the truffle beef don that's for sure.

Mushroom Aglio Olio ($16) Aglio olio is a simple dish that most people can hardly execute well, but Le Coq is not most people. I love how smokey and garlicky this dish is, although it is definitely not for the purists. Loaded with mushroom to give an earthy note, the angel hair pasta was addictive and a lil spicy.

This Is Cheating This is supposed to be a burpple one for one offer, but the shop owner gave us another menu when we want to use burpple. The pricing of the set menu is $30 for a pax. After they settle the bill, it’s as good as there is no one for one deal. This is unfair

Burpple Premium Kaisendon There's a special menu for those using the burpple 1 for 1. There's the grilled prawn, salad, iced green tea and a standard sized Don that you can choose from. The prawn is really nice. Fresh, sweet and slight char taste when you bite into it. Makes me want to finish it, shell and all. Salad arrived chilled, but overly dressed. There was enough sesame dressing left for my Don. The Don is well presented, nicely stacked. Sauce isn't too overwhelming, which is a plus. It allows the individual flavours of the various sashimi to come through. The rice isn't that fantastic, but the focus is mostly on the sashimi. The wasabi is of the tube variety, so nothing to rave about. There's a large sheet of seaweed, so I guess you can do a handroll if you want to? Good ambience though think it can get cramped if it's full. There isn't alot of space to move about.

Mentaiyaki Tamago Kaisendon Small shop, there was only one waitress on a Saturday afternoon thus a little long waiting time. Food is not bad, personally loved the Tamago. Portion is just nice, still can go outside and have other desserts after the Burpple set. Sashimi were good, but cos cut into small pieces so I couldn't tell whether they were considered fresh or not.

Box Of 6 Macarons ($20) The macarons here are of unique flavours and aren’t too sweet too. They’re always good to have when needing a sweet treat after a long day 😌 I got salted egg with curry, Thai tea, dark chocolate, pistachio, white chocolate lychee and salted caramel.

My secret indulgent food is dessert. Well, maybe not really a secret since half the time I’m posting about sweets. Arrays of these beautiful macarons that are just begging to eat, greet us when we push open the door to @the_m_plot. But big macarons caught our attention with flavours like Raspberry Lychee Rose & Chocolate Hazelnut Praline. The light floral fragrance from rose and lychee infused ganache complements the tangy raspberries! Raspberry Lychee Rose was a harmonious marriage of decadent flavour but Chocolate Hazelnut Praline was pretty well-balanced too. P.S: we managed to save with #burpplebeyond. Two big macarons along with two pot of hot tea at $13.50, it’s a super great deal! Huge Macarons And Tea (1 For 1) Used the beyond deal for these macarons. A little too sweet but I guess that's how macarons are supposed to be. Ordered the raspberry lychee rose and chocolate pralines. Cost about $8.50 each. The raspberry macaron is more pleasing to me with a balance from the sweetness of raspberry and fragrance of lychee. Nice ambience to spend your weekends at.

Tempura Truffle Chawanmushi Among all the dishes from Uni Gallery’s latest 6-course Multiple Foodgasm Kaiseki, the Tempura Truffle Chawanmushi ($20/ ala carte) stole the show for me. Seemingly simple on paper, the dish was heavenly and certainly an item I can see myself going back for again and again. Warm, silky yet complex in flavor, you get the lightness of the dashi which sets the base of the steamed egg custard then layer that with the earthy aroma of the shaved winter truffle. And to push it over the top, the crisp tempura had the richness of uni and the grassy note of the shiso leave wrapped within.

6-course Multiple Foodgasm Kaiseki. Offered a crash course into the different variant of sea urchins they carry; I was blown away by Uni Gallery’s latest Multiple Foodgasm Kaiseki. Available in 6-course ($118++) and 8-course ($188++), the uni-centric restaurant source their seafood from all over the world. Hence, even with the 6-course menu that I got to try; you are sure to get your money’s worth with the lavish spread. To start, we had the Le Tetsuya ($38/ ala carte), a martini glass filled with Australian Sea Urchin, topped with exquisite Siberian caviar and at the very bottom a slurpy amaebi dripped in white miso sauce. The uni itself was fairly creamy and paired well with the sweet-salty crushed shrimp. One for the oyster lovers, the Uni Oyster Shot was the real deal. Freshly shucked oyster with briny salmon roe and similarly coupled with short-spine Australian uni. Next up, to truly sample a taste of the sea, the Seasonal Sashimi presented fatty Otoro, delicate Botan Ebi, fresh Kinmedai, firm Hotate, crunchy Sea Grapes and luscious Japanese Shiro Uni in a lovely platter. All utterly sweet and clean tasting, the ingredients were exceptional. However, what really stole the show was the Tempura Truffle Chawanmushi ($20/ ala carte). For added indulgence, the Caviar Bone Marrow featured premium Oscietra Caviar on Grilled Bone Marrow sprinkled with beef bits. A textural experience to say the least, it was a tad jelat for me. Lastly the Toro Squid Ink Sushi ($22/ per pc ala carte) was a literal mouthful with the small mound of ikura though the flavours kind of overpowered one another. Thanks Burpple for the invite and Uni Gallery for the warm hospitality!
