STILL THE GOLD STANDARD FOR TRUFFLE FRIES Dropped by PS. Cafe for a quick lunch today after running some errands in Orchard and their truffle shoestring fries is still consistently good. Perfectly crisp with a nice truffle fragrance and topped with grated parmesan. The chicken rossa penne is my usual go-to, the garlic tomato cream sauce is a nice balance of tangy and savoury. However, the spicy king prawn aglio olio fell short today with the spaghetti being the main culprit; under-seasoned and was cut up into shorter strands, a move that might anger many diners.

Portobello Mushroom Fries I’ve never see any review of this dish before so thought to give some of my comment. This portion cost $18 which is the same as their Truffle Fries (the more pops one). My honest review: Crust of the mushroom is still crispy when served 👍🏼 However, there’s nothing really special about this dish though and because it is fried, the mushroom still pretty oily. Can be quite jelak after eating a few pieces. So probably I will stick to the truffle fries instead of this.

PS. Turkey Cranberry $26 homemade toasted caraway bread, layered with smoked turkey, grilled cheese, bacon, mayo & cranberry jam, served with shoestring fries

Lunch Set This was part of their 3 course lunch set where we opted for the truffle mushroom soup as the appetizer and ribeye steak and barramundi fish for the mains. we ended with the burnt cheesecake and honeycomb ice cream as desserts. the barramundi fish was delightful. skin was crispy, the fish was so smooth and i enjoyed it with the mashed potatoes. the sauce was on the saltier side. the steak was served with thyme butter and thick cut fries

Crème Brûlée ($16) a good end to a lovely meal. the crème brûlée was super soft and eggy. i love it!!! the sugar was also caramelised nicely

Mac and Cheese ($22) the main reason why i decided to visit bedrock was for their mac and cheese. the macaroni was not the typical curved shaped kind, but rather it’s the skinner and longer type. cheese was nicely burnt to give a nice crust and was not too salty as well

Omakase- Assorted Sushi Didn't paid attention when the chef was introducing the various fish because I was just too excited. If I remember correctly, it should be scallop and shrimp sushi. The sashimi was outstanding as expected and it would be perfect if the rice was more firm and had a sticky texture.

Omakase- Foie Gras Chawanmushi I was very pleased at the generous serving of foie gras and it was so well done that it can literally be considered meat butter as it was so rich and buttery. The only catch is that it was so overwhelming I could hardly taste the chawanmushi. It would be better if paired with something else.

Omakase- Beef The beef cubes literally melted in my mouth as it was so soft and chewy that it almost felt like sashimi instead. The beef is slightly charred on the exterior while retaining the tenderness on the inside. When paired with the fried garlic bits, the sauce on the beef was accentuated even further. Definitely the highlight of the omakase.

Curried mentaiko egg mayo - Curried egg salad topped with generous mentaiko mayo, tonkatsu sauce, furikake and tempura crumbs, providing a medley of textures and spiced umami flavours that went well together! - Sourdough was well-toasted and didn’t turn soggy 🍞 - Quite rich, would recommend to share 🤭 [7.5/10]  

Sichuan mala tater tots - Crispy but sichuan seasoning and green pepper oil were too overwhelming for me, to be fair I’m not a mala fan though 🫣 - Mala mayo on the side gave a stronger numbing sensation than spiciness that I would’ve otherwise preferred. - A unique twist but I personally would stick to the usual truffle option. [6/10]

Grilled cheese - Mix of cheddar, mozzarella and blue cheese mayo which was very savoury yet not pungent, pairing well with the tangy tomato dip 🧀 - Sourdough had a perfectly crispy exterior! [8/10]

Iced Mint Mocha Iced Mint Mocha at Tolido's Espresso Nook is a refreshing masterpiece! The perfect balance of rich espresso, velvety milk, and invigorating mint flavours creates a delightful summer treat. Visually stunning, with mint leaves and chocolate powder, making it Instagram-worthy.

Pumpkin spice latte Seriously can't take any pumpkin spice at all. There's a little bit of nutmeg on top. They took our feedback and made us another cup. Very nice but honestly both taste exactly the same lol no pumpkin spice

Brownie Blackout brownies are all good, this one is abit too sticky-dense and outside isn't the most crispy, so not top tier. But still enjoyable

Chicken Breast The chicken breast ($17++) comes with buttered corn, mushrooms, potato skins milk mash. The chicken breast is moist and tender but a tad too salty.

Dashi Risotto 💵: $21 📈: 9.5/10 🤔: 24 hours since I had this and I'm still thinking about it because it was THAT good. -0.5 because it was a tad bit pricey for the small portion, but definitely made affordable with beyond. Fried enoki mushrooms not only added a nice crunch but also great flavour.

Tom Kha Capellini 💵: $19 📈: 7/10 🤔: Would be better if the dish was served hotter, but it might also be because of the capellini's inability to retain heat. The shrimp paste was bouncy and shrimp floss added to the light tom yum flavour, pretty good dish overall!
