Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio ($19.90++) They used angel hair pasta. The pasta is quite spicy as it is drizzled with chilli oil. The prawns are very big but slightly overcooked. Quit tough to bite. Still a goos plate of pasta.

Mushroom Soup ($7.90++) The soup is very nice. It is very creamy. The croutons are crunchy. There are are also mushroom bits in it.

Mushroom Cheese Burger Have catalogued this burger before, but repeating as I will really miss this place when it shuts down. Hope it finds its next location soon!

Chicken Katsu Don This Japanese restaurant only has limited counter seating overlooking their open kitchen, catching the chef preparing your orders. You will be served with seaweed broth filled with hijiki while waiting for your foods. I would say it served as a great appetite before meal. The chicken katsu don was so tender mixing with the omelette egg. Completing your meal with fresh fruit and miso soup.

Turkish Eggs We didnt know what we should order from penny uni tbh and literally scroll thru burrple. Decided to order turkish eggs ($14) but felt disappointed on soft boiled egg 😅 and my friend said sourdough bread slightly hard to chew thru. I literally removed spicy sauce from the dish as I didn't really take spicy lol.

Matcha Latte & Spiked Muddy I felt that matcha latte ($7.50) quite sweet (a bit matcha taste) and milky, need to shake it before drinking as matcha powder didn't just dissolved it off that fast. Someone suggested for spiked muddy ($7) and taste not bad and not that acidic taste for coffee.

Halal cafe with great service As for the Classic Eggs Ben, you can choose between smoked salmon or turkey ham (we highly recommend the salmon) to go with their poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and rosemary lemon sourdough. The poached egg was done to perfection and splitted gracefully when we cut it open. The hollandaise sauce was also sweet and umami, a perfect complement to the sourdough which may be otherwise hard to have on its own. Truffle Eggs & Mushroom Do you willing to be the early bird on the weekend to come and in the early morning and get their breakfast? They opened at 8:30am on weekend to offer their breakfast menu until 10:30am, before they change to brunch menu afterward. You would get to enjoy the morning scenery here and see the sun slowly rise up. Their truffle eggs & mushroom is definitely a great meal to begin the day. The sourdough toast is topped with truffle scrambled egg, creamy mushroom, arugula and parmesan cheese. The truffle is strong but not too overwhelmed, good mix of taste as you eat them together with the mushroom. Portion is good enough.

Thick Doesn't Mean Better I didn't expect any wok hey from the Hokkien Mee ($29++), & that indeed was the case. Love how generous the portion is & how plentiful the ingredients are.. .. But the sauce was too thick & so salty that I couldn't finish my last bite of noodles. This rarely happens, but it was just too much. Ultimately, I wouldn't order this again. Their western food options have tended to fair better in my books, but I was really craving local cuisine having just spent 3 weeks in Europe.. TCS High Tea🍵 Went to TCS a few days ago and had their High Tea Set for 3 ($19/pax) and a Fried Fish with Avocado side ($17)!😇 Food was not bad (charsiew and otah, puffs, bread with salami and mushrooms, anddd cakes and macaroons were sweet) Vibes were greattt tho😍 Really chill n cozy date spot but sadly its very far... Overall ratings 8/10! Would head back in the future for special occasions and to try other menu items😋

Massive Coffee Cravings..... Again. The plain and unpretentious coffee spot, serving up delicious caffeine shots to caffeine-starved souls like us. Special shout-out to their Generra ($5.50), mocha with orange zest (they're got an orange peel to prove it!), which was fragrant, smooth, creamy and slightly chocolatey. Perfect for orange chocolate fans. The Plain is located along Craig Road, just down the road from Selfish Gene cafe. Nearer train station being Outram Park MRT.

Dean's Breakfast If you like Vegemite with its absurd-yet-intriguing saltiness you'll like this, I think.. Nice combi with the poached eggs and Iced Generra.

Iced Generra Mocha with a twist of orange. So refreshing as the sun was scorching hot. Not pictured is Dean's Breakfast: poached eggs on melted cheese & Vegemite sourdough toasts. So Aussie. Whether you'll like the dish is another issue, if you like how Vegemite tastes you might like the toast.. The café has a vast collection of Monocle magazine too! It was not so crowded when I came on Saturday afternoon. A conducive place to eat followed by leisurely reading some magazines (or chatting with friends).

Matcha Tarts We had a nice surprise when the tarts came. Instead of 1 huge tart, we had 5 mini bite sized tarts. The matcha was balanced well, not too sweet-just like how we liked it. The filling was warm and really nice. The flat white was pretty good too!:)

Foie Gras Don ($32) Pleasantly surprised by this beautiful floral arrangement on my Foie Gras Don 🌸 at @maisonikkoku! The Foie Gras was perfectly executed with a creamy centre and slightly crispy outer shell, blending well with the slightly savoury and mildly spicy sauce~ Oh so sinful, but so good! 😍💜💜💜 Only gripe is that the portion is a little small for $32, but I guess you're paying for art? 😝

Salted Caramel French Toast Dim lighting, bar-ish cafe (they actually do have a bar upstairs). Unsure whether it is temporary, but the opening time changed to 10 am. Service was okay, although it did took some time for the f&b to arrive Salted caramel French toast (22 sgd)-quite hefty of a price for a french toast. The type where it isnt custardy on its own and gets the creaminess from everything around it. Could have been better 3.5/5 Maison ikkoku latte (7 sgd)-im fine as long as it's not acidic, this one is good.
