Just thinking about this Shoyu Ramen that I had fifty-one broken macarons ago at Pompompurin Café Singapore, which sadly bows out of Singapore on 20 August 2017. When I provided quotes for a Lianhe Zaobao article when the café first launched (I was profiled as a "fan"), I had expressed my reservations about the viability of character cafés in Singapore, but it still packs a sad punch when the fears become reality. ⠀ Thank you for the memories, @pompompurincafesg. I shall have to visit the Japan outlets for my subsequent golden retriever jollies.

Duck Confit Hash; A Pleasant Surprise While the presentation could use more color, this brunch item (till 3pm) genuinely surprised me with the creamy duck confit ($17) infused with sweet potato, caramalised onions and cheese.

Good, But Not As Good As Before Beef Rendang Lasagne ($16) Great flavours here, strongly reminiscent of beef Rendang as expected, especially from that kick you get from the spiciness. However, I found the beef to be too dry, and the pasta sheets to be too hard.

Chicken Burger 🐱 - Chicken Burger ($22) The chicken patty is slightly oily, but luckily it’s not too dry on the inside — a common mistake in chicken burgers. The buns are nice and soft, the French fries crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the coleslaw is just, oh well, a typical coleslaw, nothing special. Also what’s with that lonely quarter-strip slice of the poor pickle when there’s room for more pickles…?!?!?!

Pancake with warm maple butter 🍵 - Pancake with warm maple butter ($20) w choice of blueberry (high recommendation), banana walnut or chocolate chunks. I really like their thick pancake but I managed to eat two of pancake pieces only. It was too much for me and good for sharing with people. The pancake got eggy taste and quite soft texture. The warm maple butter and blueberry sauce was really thick and sweet aftertaste. The sauce complemented well with the pancake 👍

Blueberry Pancakes We were lucky to try their pancakes before they close their Singapore outlet for good! The pancakes resembled that of mcgriddles muffins but more fluffy! The maple syrup was really thick and fragrant. However as the serving size was pretty big, this could get quite jelak towards the end. Nevertheless, still a wonderful plate of pancakes!

Creamier x Able Bagel Collaboration Located among the Colonial building set amidst greenery, back to one of my favourite places for Ice cream with my family. This time, we decided to try something new. ▪️Donut Sandwich with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & choice of Strawberry Jam or Salted Caramel Sauce, a collaboration between Creamier x Able Bagel (home-based bagel) available for a limited time. ▪️Was recommended to try their bakes-inspired Cinnamon Raisin Cream Cheese Bagel Ice Cream and Golden Waffles with Maple Syrup Ice Cream to go along with freshly baked Belgian Golden Waffles. Still one of the best waffles Creamier has been around for long, but it’s still one of my favorites. The waffles is still crispy and fluffy and their ice creams are just the right amount of sweetness.

Yuzu Matcha & Hojicha Like finally tried their ice cream after a long time. Bc I'm not staying at bedok so it's quite hard to try also 🥲. So I tried their flavour for tea flavour like Yuzu Matcha n Hojicha ($8.50). I saw a lot of interesting flavour out there also. I just like yuzu matcha a lot and got that strong yuzu taste > matcha. I felt that Hojicha was quite average roasted tea and not that strong taste tbh.

Heart Attack In a Platter Shared this between the 5 of us a while back. Best ribs ever! I also enjoy the maggie goreng. Cheese fries okay, skip the truffle fries.

Mango coco 13.4++ add on almond thins +1.9++ THEY ARE CLOSING THIS WEEK The waffles were decent. Mango was way too sour. Coconut ice cream sucks, it's way too cold and lacks flavour Almond thins were brilliant. Super aromatic from the nuts, with a really satisfying crunch. Not sure what the translucent parts are but hey if it's this good I'm not complaining The queue is insane nowadays so please come with a reservation

red velvet cheesecake waffles ($11.50) as usual, the soft serve was rich in sightly salty cheese flavour!! the little cubes of red velvet cake topped w lemon custard were also a nice topping. would always recommend sunday folks for ice cream, but a little stingy with their waffles, can skip and get cones/cups instead

Green Curry and Omelette ($10.90) lunch time sets were really worth it! the egg was thick and really fluffy. green curry was really lemak as well!

Spatchcock Chicken As we came in group, so we also gotten this as ala carte to share. It is a grilled whole chicken with signature rub, served with sticky rice and tamarind jaew. The grilled chicken itself was juicy and tender.

Lunch Set C This is one of the popular lunch spot for the CBD workers here, as it was almost full house when I come for lunch on weekday. The lunch sets are available between 11am to 3pm. There’s total of 4 lunch sets to choose from, which each consists of different items. I gotten the set c, which comes with green curry chicken and mini street omelette. A great portion for one person I would say, the green curry and omelette was tasty.

Plain Ole Chocolate From Creamier Let’s indulge a plain ole chocolate ice cream cone and get blown away by its rich, dark, and smooth flavour. The texture is creamy and velvety, coating the taste buds with chocolatey goodness. The best part? It's only $4.90! What a steal for such high-quality handcrafted ice cream. Note: Contains dairy, so not suitable for those with dietary restrictions.

Butterscotch almond Buttery rich with a caramel flavour, enjoyed the roasted almond bits within which gave a fragrant nuttiness. [5.5/10]

Hokey pokey Vanilla base mixed with honeycomb crumbs coated with white chocolate adding a crunch though sweetness was rather overpowering, very creamy and melted quickly. [5/10]

Coffee Daze, Coffee Day Caffeine overload? There is never too much caffeine in my dictionary. I stood there all day with my cup of beautiful tulip poured mocha and getting inspired by the surrounding feel-good vibes. Nothing more, nothing less. Perfect.

Roast Pork Smørrebrød (THB190) Scandinavian style open-faced sandwich. Thinly sliced roast pork loin on Danish rye bread dressed with curried Danish remoulade, garnished with crispy shallot and dill pickles. The rich curry-mayo based remoulade sauce accentuate the slightly dry pork loin with a slight spicy taste. While it is filling for us, I felt portion might not be sufficient for a guy.

Ichigo (240B) A beautifully plated dessert with many components brought together. The highlight for me would definitely be the strawberry sorbet, not overly sweet nor sour, the icy refreshing sorbet tasted very close to the fruit but in a ice-cream form! The other ingredients such as the vanilla pudding, mousses, gels, meringues, lemon curd and star anise crumbles provided a nice contrast in the textures.
