It's official! I've fallen head over heels with their Sea Salt caramel latte. Try it for yourself and you will understand. The caramel, the sourish robust notes of the espresso married with a pinch of salt never fail to samba in my palette. In hot or cold, both are equally delicious! And the latte art with that cute seafoam coloured cup...very pretty! $6.50 (hot). And their service always come with a smile and warmth too.

Running an errand in the hot sunny morning along Beach Road I decided to swing by this cafe to cool down. Got myself a super refreshing drink for $6.50. Lavender and yuzu do make a good match. No sugar added and it was perfect on the rocks!

Rainy days equals to Decaf πŸ˜„While at it, why not try Decaf Mocha at The New Black? Quite a big serving (don't be fooled by the picture). It was a robust cup with delicious chocolatey notes. You don't need dessert to go with this as it already is! Don't forget to sign up for their "Buy 9 get 1 free drink" rewards programme.

With a price range of $3.50 - $3.90 (takeaways extra $1 in a 12oz cup), the coffee here is simply affordable and irresistable. I had a Mocha ($4.50) and then a Flat White (picture, $3.90). The latte art is also pretty. I really enjoyed both my cups and would have ordered a third one if I wasn't there by myself! 😊 They also sell freshly ground coffee and coffee apparatus. Will be coming back!

The health benefits of consuming pure silver had better be true! For $10 it is definitely indulgent but curiosity got the better of me. Getting past the weirdness and the crazy thought of the silver resembling aluminum foil, I slowly bit off the top part. Thankfully there wasn't any metallic taste. It actually tasted very good!

Passed by this hipster cafe and since there is always space for dessert and another latte, I decided to pop in πŸ™ƒ How pleased I was to find an "ice cream-less" option in their Buttermilk waffle. It was definitely healthier IMO as it came with Greek yoghurt, maple syrup, fresh bananas, strawberries and 4 blueberries. My only gripe was the yoghurt made the otherwise heavenly "crispy outside yet fluffy inside" waffle become rather soggy. The 7 spice chai latte was quite weak in the spices taste. It needed more spices to give it a chai kick, IMO. Total spend was $20.80 including 10% service charge and GST. Worth mentioning is the warm service and welcoming aura of the wait staff and cashier. Will probably head back there again soon.

Owing to the $2 return voucher with minimum spend of $10 that I have accumulated, I decided to have lunch at Chef Icon Bakery Kampong Bahru branch. It was 12.30pm and it was not crowded. Tried the Sambal burger ($8.80). The bun was heavenly with walnuts encrusted in it. The sambal sauce with the tofu ham was also a correct match for the burger. It was meatless yet very satisfying. The best part is not feeling guilty after eating a burger! The Flat White ($5.50) was also good.

The ambience is pretty cool and futuristic, with sleek design and a very open coffee counter. The staff were also friendly and warm. Came at 9am and it was empty. The barista recommended me the Emilio beans which had quite a good body and mouthfeel IMO. Be warned, it is quite strong. I had a latte and a mocha and 5 hours later I am still feeling rather antsy from caffeine overdrive πŸ™ƒ One thing I didn't fancy was the brand of fresh milk they used. As far as I am aware, it is one of the cheapest brands in the supermarket. Total spend was S$13.20. Note that they only accept plastic as payment. Cash not welcomed 🀣

Out of curiousity I had lunch in this vegan bakery-cafe. The mocha ($6.80) came in quite a tall sized mug. Value for money and the taste was very good! No sugar added. All you taste is the perfect combination of dark cocoa, well-extracted espresso and milk. Tried their Yakiniku mushroom sandwich (it was mmmm so good, didnt even take a picture!). Also took away quite a few of their yummmy (and healthier version) of pastries. Worth checking out this place!

Mee Rebus, if well cooked, can be quite a gastronomic goodness. The mutton broth married with the right amounts of spices, sweet potato and generous garnishings of celery, fried shallots, green chilis and tofu can leave you with a satisfying meal. This hawker stall definitely makes good mee rebus ($3) IMO. Add a piece if otak-otak for $1. Too bad the begedil (potato cutlet) was sold out because it really tastes good with mee rebus πŸ˜ƒ

It was almost 1pm and who on earth eats desserts at that time? But anyways I went for this platter ($10) pricey IMO for the tiny servings. The pastries platter was sold out for the day and originally I wanted to try that out. Anyway the platter I ordered consisted of 2 itsy bitsy cutesy sized macarons, a small shot of hot chocolate and a scoop of ice cream. They were all ok tasting, nothing spectacular. I also ordered a Flat white ($5). The latte art was a fail but still, it looked cute. The coffee beans were from CMCR however I didn't quite like it. It had a weird sourish, almost too bitter note to it. The lady taking my order was very friendly and customer oriented. I'll come back but probably just stick to the chocolate offerings here. Waffles next πŸ˜‚

Lies a very quaint cafe, in The Hillford. A hidden gem with a nice ambience. Was there for brunch with my little girl on a Friday morning, it was pretty quiet (perhaps the location played a part). Waffles ($15) were a tad too crispy to my liking but the Honey Lavender ice cream that came with it was certainly something to remember. Their cutlery are from Loveramics and just super pretty. The lavender latte was nice too ($5). They also serve cold pressed juices ($7). Place accepts only NETs and Cash. No service charge or GST.
