Truffle Mac And Cheese I had the most hope for this one since I heard lots of people racing about it. However, the cheese was a little too hard and the macaroni did not go as well with the truffle oil and cheese. The saving grace was the thinly sliced mushrooms.

Pulled Pork Carbonara This dish gave me a rather pleasant surprise as it wasn't as thick as I thought it would be. I don't usually go for cream based pasta but this one was so well cooked that I forgot there was even cream in it. The cherry tomatoes add a twist to the other creamy pasta and needless to say the pulled pork was very soft and well marinated.

Mash And Bangers The mash and bangers taste rather different this time when I ordered it, the sausages are less juicy and the mash potato was a little too dry.

For 90cent Peanut & Red Bean Pancakes You shouldn't have to make the agonising decision between a red bean or peanut pancake if you love them both. At just 90 cents, you can get a mix of both red bean and peanut for the ultimate pancake here! There is almost always a queue for these soft, pillowy parcels, but you can pre-order a box for a mid-day treat for you and your colleagues.

Soft Bun Long queue for coffee here every morning. Ordered this kaya butter 澶┖闈㈠寘 (that's what they called it which is kinda cute) , tea and eggs for only $3.80. It's crispy at the sides, soft but a little dry inside (I shall not scrimp on the butter next time). Overall a cheap happy meal to start the day.

Frankie's Peanut Pancake Thankful for my colleague's teatime treat with this gem of a banchiangkueh (peanut pancake) - one of the best I've ever had and a good bang for the buck. For only 90 cents, this fluffy and pillowy soft pancake is generously filled with either red bean, peanut or like my case, a glorious mix of both. So darn good I bought it again. There is almost always a queue; some people order in advance and really buy a lot! Uncle Frankie opens only on weekdays and stops selling by 3 or 4pm, but do call and order by 2plus.

Claypot Mac & Cheese They served mac & cheese to the next level. Prepared hot with claypot, the nacho cheese sauce on top with the chicken and macaroni definitely worth the wait of 15 minutes. Price: $5.

Irresistible Claypot Mac & Cheese! Tom Yum Seafood pasta - the sauce has a distinct hot and sour flavour and it goes perfectly well with the spaghetti. Topped with fresh prawns and mussels. Read more: http://www.misstamchiak.com/legitimeat-western-food/

Feeling wolfish? Why not eat this Wolf Fish? 馃惡馃悷 . Nope I'm not ribbing you! There is really such a thing as wolf fish and according to Wikipedia, it's also known as Atlantic catfish or ocean catfish #nowyouknow 馃 . Anyway, when I saw that Fisherios was selling this Beer Battered Wolf Fish ($15), I couldn't resist trying it since I was so intrigued by its name 馃ぉ As it turns out, the wolf fish tasted pretty much like how any other fish used in a fish & chips dish would taste though it's flesh was a tad firmer and doesn't flake off as easily as say dory fish would. Overall, a decent plate of fish and chips though it didn't exactly have me howling with delight

Beer Battered Fish And Chips ($11.90) Pretty decent fish and chips. The crunch on the crispy batter was pure addictive, yet thin at the same time?? The fries were fried to crisp as well. With it came a bowl of clam chowder and iced beverage. The clam chowder tasted more like can-made than homemade馃槄 The portion was quite filling. To relieve some of the greasiness (not that greasy frankly speaking), malt vinegar was readily within reach:)

For When You're On A Budget And Really Hungry With A Buddy Or Two Overall 8/10. Gripe: ingredients were hardly warm at all. Btw the picture was taken after the portion was split in two and after a hungry student ate three bites. Three options for equally huge plates turned up at $14.80, $16.80 and the ultra $19.80 with varying amounts of ingredients. We went for the $16.80 and boy was the plate heavy to hold and heavy on the stomach. Sure, the curry was pretty okay and the rice was atypically japanese. The stars are the ingredients, two fried ebi, three pieces of Japanese fried chicken huge karaage style and two rows of tonkatsu chicken katsu. Such was the portion of ingredients that two people couldn't finish it there.

Huge Portion Of Curry Rice For 2 Japanese ultimate original curry [$19.80] which includes 1pork cutlet, 1chicken cutlet, 4 pieces of chicken karaage, 2 ebi tempura, 1 potato croquette and 1 flavoured egg accompanied with a load curry that was to die for. Only downside was the fried stuffs were already lay out outside of the stall so they weren't freshly out of the fryer hot

Delicious food, great drinks and lovely ambience! One of my favourite bars with delicious and decently priced food!! A must try would be the Hatten Cheese ($8) this cheese fishcake dish is simple yet mindblowing - love the drinks here as well especially the umeshu ($8), very lovely ambience and perfect for date nights!

Mentaiko Udon With Kimchi It鈥檚 quite a find for this japanese izakaya place along the whole stretch of boat quay! Very chill ambiance with super goood izakaya variety and they have rather reasonable priced sake on promotions. One of my favorite was this mentaiko udon with kimchi, simple but very light and refreshing, could just easily slurp the whole bowl down. Other than that must try their battered squid too! It鈥檚 amazingly good!

the KFC Legend For $2.50 a chunk, it may seem overpriced. But the way they prepared it (24h marination) allowed the flavours to seep into all of the meat & skin. It simply slides off the bone. Called KFC (katanashi fried chicken), it may trump the original one. Also, A+ for service, value and views here

Nikumaki Nabe Wanted a nabe and can't go wrong. Unfortunately, the tonkotsu yuzu kosho soup was mediocre. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a nabe's soup. Ingredients were also iffy. Thank god for the beef skewers, which were paired with sausage, Japanese leek and enoki mushrooms. They salvaged the dish.

Salmon Cream Omurice This was promising but the reviews were right about one thing: the white rice beneath the omelette was too independent of the cream or the egg or the salmon, and crippled the dish. Fish was also the worst kind of salmon, although cream sauce is always welcome.

Chilled Udon With Stewed Pork Two underrated dishes at the appetiser bar. The noodles weren't really udon and more like Hokkien mee or linguine. It was tasty. Meat was quite Chinese and I guess that's a good thing haha.

A Nostalgic Taste of Indonesian Comfort Food at Tambuah Mas Before Indonesian cuisine became widely available in Singapore, Tambuah Mas was our go-to spot for an authentic and satisfying meal. Returning for a meal here brought back so many fond memories, especially with their signature Tahu Telur鈥攁 towering beancurd fried in egg batter, drizzled with a homemade mildly spicy kicap manis. The sweet-savoury combination makes this a must-order dish, perfect for sharing due to its generous portion. Another classic not to miss is the Gado Gado, a refreshing mix of blanched vegetables, tofu, and emping crackers, tied together with a rich homemade peanut dressing. For a hearty main, the Nasi Campur with Ikan Belado stood out with its fiery red chilli topping, though the spice level was surprisingly manageable. A meal at Tambuah Mas is always a comforting treat, bringing authentic Indonesian flavors to the table.
