Pumpkin risotto set lunch Pretty good, sweet and soft risotto with nice mushrooms and cheese. The risotto didn't taste too much of pumpkin tho, however overall still good execution

Cozy Cafe, Cafe is hidden within a CC at Ghim Moh. The cafe is generally a cozy place to chill at. We ordered Morning BB ($21), Rosti ($10), Iced White ($6) and Black Coffee ($4.50). Morning BB was a tad disappointing. My plate was oily when I finished everything. The sourdough bread was a little too hard to my liking. You can request for butter, but jam is chargeable. Their tomato was really sweet though. Sausage seems to be pretty good quality kind. Rosti on the other hand taste good, but also a little too oily. Left the shop with really shiny lips:/ One thing to note is that their coffee is on the acidic side, which is probably not to everyone’s liking. I saw online that they offer other beans that are less acidic, May consider asking and requesting for those instead.

Pao Fan 泡饭 Generous serving of crayfish, prawns and clams for $22. Broth was delicious!

Mango coco 13.4++ add on almond thins +1.9++ THEY ARE CLOSING THIS WEEK The waffles were decent. Mango was way too sour. Coconut ice cream sucks, it's way too cold and lacks flavour Almond thins were brilliant. Super aromatic from the nuts, with a really satisfying crunch. Not sure what the translucent parts are but hey if it's this good I'm not complaining The queue is insane nowadays so please come with a reservation

red velvet cheesecake waffles ($11.50) as usual, the soft serve was rich in sightly salty cheese flavour!! the little cubes of red velvet cake topped w lemon custard were also a nice topping. would always recommend sunday folks for ice cream, but a little stingy with their waffles, can skip and get cones/cups instead

Hot Stone Beef Bibimbap With Cheese (15++) My favourite bibimbap in Singapore (or rather the only one I’ve tried) because of their amazing sauce, and generous portions of beef and melted cheese 😋

Authentic But Small Portion Fancy an authentic Korean restaurant for lunch? Hantol is one that gives you the fix you need, but hungry lunch crowds may be disappointed at the portion of the food. The line gets long at 12pm, so come early to get your food served quickly! Note that the staffs are always in the hurry to chase you off - this place might not be suitable for chatting too since tables are placed very closely to each other. We had a tummy warming sundae soup (beef, and pork) and were both very delicious! It’s not spicy to me (as a xiaola mala person), so I can safely say those who fear spicy food can try this with no fear! The soup is more on the sweet side. Purple Korean rice was also served here, along with 3 (pathetically tiny) side dishes. Better than nothing I guess. Request for barley tea and be surprised with an insanely small cup being charged at 50c 🤭

Hidden Korean Food Gem In CBD This is my favourite Korean food place!! I love their hot stone bibimbap (~$16) and I recently decided to try their kimchi fried rice with cheese (~$15). This place is run by Koreans and their food is really good and value for money because of the sides and portion size! Would come back again if I’m working around the area, pity I’m further now.

LYCHEE OOLONG tried their Lychee Oolong💗 which is their new flavor. Both lychee and oolong is more of an after taste which i think they used lychee oolong tea to make the creme 🤔

CHICKEN BACON PIE Their Chicken Bacon Pie surprised me by how good it is💯 It’s meaty inside with cookie crust outside💗 served with salad as well 😋

Kakiage Don Had the new Kakiage Don which is like a single piece of fritters with all the vegetable, prawn and squid condensed together. Price is reasonable and worth it.

Tenya Tendon I decided to order Signature Tenya Tendon ($9.50) (Less Rice - $0.50) but I felt that it was quite disappointed. As they got a lot of batter inside each fried items, it was not that oily for me but crunchy and crispy batter. Tenya Tendon come with Tempura Prawn, Red Fish, Squid, Pumpkin and French Beans. I didn't remembered whether I got eat squid or not but pumpkin got sweet taste, tempura prawn got a bit bland taste, red fish got soft and sweet taste and french bean was slightly hard to chew.

Chawanmushi [$2.50] This was better than we expected! Stock used here was the more strongly seasoned sort and it came with crab stick, mushroom and a prawn. Pretty smooth.

Nice place with nice food with this price. Using this Burpple deal, I would say it’s a good food with nice environment and customer service too. But pls note, only has Nets and Cash payment. Anyway, We would definitely return back again. Thank you!

the usual food is typical, burpple deal isn’t exceptional, tho i do like their mentaiko sauce it’s got a good burnt taste to it. and it’s a meal that makes u FULL

normal price point the set is quite a mouthful - your donburi, miso soup, salad and a meat side dish. we got yakitori sticks this time (you usually can’t choose and i think they switch it up from time to time). total was about $19+ per person after including gst, which i think is quite a normal price point for a set like this. got the chicken teriyaki don, it’s very very typical

Angel Hair Pasta ($16.90 before Burpple Beyond 1-for-1) As for our 2nd main, we went with their angel hair pasta which featured truffle and ikura. We enjoyed this more than the buta mayonnaise. The pasta was al dente and the truffle notes was nutty and earthy without being overwhelming. Portion though was a little on the small side and ikura was also a little on the more side and was closer to ebiko than ikura!

Buta Mayonnaise ($16.90 before Burpple Beyond 1-for-1) Miss K and I were feeling peckish after spending most of Saturday in the office and were in the mood for an early dinner. A quick search of our options on #BurppleBeyond led us to Yakizen, a homely quiet izakaya located right smack in the heart of the CBD along Circular Road. Their 1-for-1 mains options is rather limited. We decided to check out the intriguing buta mayonnaise which featured pan-fried pork belly with mayonnaise. To be honest, this dish turned out better than expected as the rich creamy mayonnaise paired surprisingly well with the savoury teriyaki sauce. It did get a little too cloy towards the end as we did not pair it with rice. The portions though was rather small and at $16.90++ would be rather overpriced without the #BurppleBeyond deal.

Tonkotsu Ramen - with all the toppings Oh the broth was amazing and lovely. It was very rich, and I chose the normal seasoning it was a bit on the salty side for me, but still ok I just couldn’t finish all the soup it was a lot. As usual I slurped up the noodles as is the traditional way of eating ramen.

Black Tonkotsu Ramen Special | $15.90 Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King was my go-to ramen place a long time ago when there were much fewer ramen restaurants around, and it has been a while since I have been back. The Black Tonkotsu Ramen special is meant to be tonkotsu broth with black garlic flavour, and the more decadent option with flavoured egg, seaweed, and more chashu. I however thought that the tonkotsu broth was not as rich as I remembered it to be, and the garlic — both in aroma and taste was underwhelming. Disappointing especially since I got the black tonkotsu for the garlic punch. The egg was also sorely lacking in flavour, and the chashu was on the drier side. Rate:🌟
