Was having lunch with my ex-colleagues. Came about this fishball noodle stall in Lau Pat Sat. It has a 2016 Michelin Bib Gourmand poster in front of the shop. Decided to try as it mentioned the fishballs are specially made. There were about 4-5 person in front of me so I joined the queue. Ordered mee pok dry and no chilli. The texture of the mee pok is so so only, don’t have the qq feeling. The fish cake is good as there are dices of red chilli and spring onions in the fish paste before it was cooked. Lastly, the soup has taste of flour in it. I drank 2 mouths and decided to put it aside.
Overall, nothing to shout about for this fishball noodle stall. This seems like a branch of the original Michelin Bib Gourmand as I did a search and only found one “Fishball Story” located at Golden Mile Food Centre. If this is indeed the branch, it might be doing the original stall a disservice. There is a longer queue at one other fishball noodle stall in Lau Pat Sat though.

I had the pho before at their Katong shop and didn’t know a new branch was opened at Havelock II. Decide to try their Bibimbap. It was good. Very generous amount of vegetables and pork. You can have it with sunny side up or poach egg (I chose the sunny side). Mixed them with their concoction of fish sauce and there you have it. Very flavourful. Think the price was $12.90 or $13.90. I can’t really remember as I had this 3 weeks ago, this review was overdue. The beef pho at their Katong shop was good, the soup was very rich. Will try it at the new place since it’s nearer to my office. Another option now for Viet food in town.
