Indonesia-style gado gado. Authentic and a healthier choice.

Settled along the quiet stretch of Martin Road, Chopsuey Cafe turns in one surprising dish after another. Orange crispy beef, mudcrab fried rice and broccoli with fresh succulent prawns. We'll be back!

Affordable, tasty and healthy. Ideal for a quick Saturday night's dinner when most people choose to join the long restaurant queues.

Off the main road, with a nondescript exterior, you wouldn't have noticed this petite cafe. Especially when it's tucked away in a quiet corner of Kreta Ayer, more frequented by the elderly rather than yuppies. Lovely chocolate banana tart framed by petite macarons.

Possibly one of the more authentic versions that I've tasted outside of Seoul. It's a bit pricey, but good enough to satisfy whatever cravings or bingsu withdrawal symptoms that one might have.

If eating snails is not your thing, then surely this dish of escargots baked with garlic and herbs will turn you into a convert!

After all the mega-feasts, this is truly comfort food for the soul. Love how the different curries meld together to give you the perfect balance of deliciousness! Hah! Whatever that means. If you happen to be 'trekking' Mt. Faber, head on down to Telok Blangah Rise, the sleepiest estate in the city centre.

Heard of Walnut Tree, anybody? With no social media presence at all, one wonders how they get by in this digital age. Yet this tiny restaurant situated in the same block as its more popular counterparts, charms with its homestyle cooking.

They call it a blend of NY London coffee! No sitting, standing only policy which works!

They are named so by the restaurant, and I have to say that I concur. Pity I wasn't holding the phone with steadier hands after one beer too many.

This is really one gem of a find. We chanced upon this restaurant while we were on our way to the Zion Riverside food centre. Got sidetracked, no regrets!
