For Affordable Pancakes Wind down after a long day at Mollydooker's Coffee Bar, where pancakes don't burn holes in wallets. These fluffy babies are made to order, and fill the whole place with is buttery aroma when slapped on the griddle. Go for the basics if you feel like something simple (RM8.90), served warm with with butter and maple syrup. For something a little brighter, check out Barrie's Choice (RM12.90), pancakes mixed with berries compote and served with dried cranberries, butterscotch and maple syrup. Pair these sweet treats with a filtered coffee (ask the barista for options) or a cold brew!

Neighbourhood Gem Recently given a facelift, Mollydooker's is a Damansara Heights caffeine vendor with a small selection of curated local food and drink (think The Last Polka ice cream, Smooshie juices, Nuts Enough banana bread). Its well-pulled coffee, clean lines, and the fact that it isn't constantly overflowing with customers (i.e. the acoustics are favourable and there is some element of anonymity) will keep me coming back. A hot chocolate (pictured) is priced at RM9.50.

Usual afterwork ritual, Ice Black. A slight bitter aftertaste rather than the usual full fruity and bright notes, maybe it's just me or maybe they used a different bean. Still, it was good! ☕️

3D Art Coffee Much effort could be seen putting into making the 3D art. Coffee was decent, and I chose the one with tangerine syrup. I gotta admit I like it, as it gives a refreshing taste to the coffee.

Cempedak Spring Rolls (RM15) These are good. These are very good. Made fresh, Fat Spoon takes super ripe cempedak and wrap it in spring roll skin and fry it to a perfect crisp. 🤤 It goes very nicely with the vanilla ice cream that it's served with - but I could quite happily eat it on its own. 👍🏼 Gimme moar!

For Comfort Food With A Local Twist Best for small groups looking for a rustic spot to dine, this cafe's Moo Moo Rice Bowl (RM17) takes you back to the good old days of eating rice with a bowl of piping hot ABC soup, plus tasty basil beef tenderloin. Another yummy choice is the Ulam Angel Hair Pasta (RM16), a modern take on the use of aromatic ulam herbs. The comfort food selection here extends to the dessert menu with Cempedak Spring Rolls (RM15) — deep fried cempedak-stuffed spring rolls served with vanilla ice cream. Avg Price: RM30

Something magical about this cafe: its perfect lighting makes everything look extremely sumptuous... Seafood spaghetti (RM25+10% service charge) is on “lunch of the week” menu, add RM3 for soup or desserts. Portion is huge, seafood is fresh. . . Price may be a little steep for “working lunch” consideration around this area, but I guess once in a month probably is ok? 😝 I love its iced kopi susu than other western coffee such as latte etc, selling at RM8+10% service charge as well. .

One Of The Best Cafes In Town! Nestled in the old charm of Masjid Jamek area, this cafe is reachable via both LRT and public-hailing car service. Driving here is not recommended as the road lacks parking space and is usually jammed. The decorations are very artistic and inspiring. I love the open space to the right of the cafe, as it offers natural lighting and greenery. The staff are very friendly and warm! Although their prices are rather on the higher side, I can guarantee that you won't regret as the food are of top-notch - definitely one of a kind! All in all, do drop by the cafe and experience its uniqueness yourself 😉

Caramel Cheesecake This is tasty but I do hope they serve more choices of cakes. Their mocha is a must try because I like the fact that chocolate doesn't overpower the espresso. Thumbs up

For Asian Flavours and Natural Wine Great for dinner with your bestie is this hip restaurant in Jalan Batai. Have a glass of Natural Wine (from RM30 a glass) to pair with the Unagi Cracker (RM24). Look forward to tender pieces of grilled unagi and crunchy granny smith apples sandwiched between dehydrated seaweed — interesting and delicious! The community also recommends the Ramen Noodle XO Sauce (RM16) and the Meat Bun (RM21) stuffed with soy-braised lamb. Photo by Burppler Jesuis Enamourez

For a Weekday Rice Bowl Fix Drop by this modern Asian restaurant in Plaza Batai for weekday express lunches over mean rice bowls with stellar protein options – from tender beef to torched unagi, seared ginger salmon and more. Dive straight for the Beef With Seaweed Butter (RM27) and look forward to medium-rare slices of quality beef on seaweed butter rice, served with pickles and fresh veggies. Also good is the Japanese Fried Chicken (RM25) – deep-fried karaage in a creamy butter sauce. Ps. All lunch bowls come with a glass of ice tea.

Japanese Fried Chicken (RM25) Must-order for the chicken lovers. Super crunchy chicken slicked in a butter sauce with curry leaves, served with the same sides as the beef bowl – jammy egg, pickles, charred kailan, edamame and raw purple cabbage. Very satisfying.
