With how fabulous their dumplings were, we came very close to completely neglecting Dumpling Darlings鈥 noods. It鈥檚 no fault of the noodles of course which were honestly plenty delicious, if not outshone by the 馃 We had the braised pork noodles: pretty generous portion of tasty braised meat + nori + ramen egg + spring onions + homemade noodles. I really really liked the noodles. They were cooked just right 鈥 springy, qq, with a good bite 鈥 and reminded me of good ramen noodles actually, so much that I had to remind myself I wasn鈥檛 having mazesoba. I would鈥檝e liked a little more punch and oomph (by way of lard preferably imma fatty), but I was so impressed with the texture of the noodles I ain鈥檛 complaining.

Lunch Set ($16++) Ordered 2 lunch sets. Miso mushroom noodles, smoked duck dumplings and longan osmanthus pu erh Szechuan noodles, fried pierogi dumplings and grapefruit strawberry green tea. I expected the miso mush noodles to taste quite hawker centre-ish, but it exceeded my expections. Noodle portions were just nice, with a lot of well seasoned button mushrooms. My friend who tried the szechuan noodles loved it, especially the szechuan spice. Smoked duck dumpling contained lots of duck bits, which complemented the oyster sauce provided. The fried pierogi dumplings really impressed me! I loved the mashed potato filling, but especially their spicy creamy sauce!! On the other hand, drinks were so so, tastes like what you would think it will taste. Will be back for the dumplings platter! 5/5, worth the money!

While dumplings weren鈥檛 what I wanted to eat right outta CB I gotta say they made my first post-CB meal out mega fine 馃い We had their Fried Pierogi (4 pc) as part of a lunch set and an a la carte Original (5 pc), and both were so good we almost 鈥 just almost 鈥 forgot about their noodles. This pan-fried OG of minced pork collar and napa cabbage was very much a gyoza: super juicy insides literally bursting at a first bite, crisp and thin skins barely (but perfectly) holding all of that in. So good, nothing for me to possibly pick on at all.

Parmesan Cheese & Cream Crackers [$18 Per Tub] Am sure Tom鈥檚 Palette needs no introduction! It鈥檚 my favourite spot for quality yet affordable ice cream with unique flavours. Their Parmesan Cheese & Cream Crackers is one of the ones I always get, for its savoury sweet notes and generous bits of crackers. Though their new spot is not officially opened, you can still get your hands on their tubs via weekly online pre-orders for delivery and self-pickup. Just like how they rotate their flavours in-store, they do so for these pre-orders too! They鈥檙e also giving a free DIY ice cream kit for every 2 tubs purchased for self-pickup, or 4 for delivery. Updates are all on their Instagram, @tomspalettesg.

Rum And Raisin + Hojicha Had heard from a friend about how good the rum and raisin flavour from tom鈥檚 palette was, and it really lived up to the hype! It was creamy and smooth, with a good balance of rum. The hojicha was not bad, but the rum and raisin would be what I鈥檒l return for :)

brownie waffles & ice cream 馃槏 this place serves up some really amazing dessert at pretty affordable prices! the ice cream/gelato was rich & creamy, plus there were many unique flavours available! favourite has got to be the yuzu 鈥 it was light, citrusy & smooth, with a very prominent yuzu flavour. 馃崑 brownie waffles were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside, and complemented the ice cream well. a little gripe is that they didn鈥檛 quite taste like brownies, but they were good nonetheless. overall a lovely place for dessert and just a stone鈥檚 throw away from bugis too! 8/10 馃専
