Went in the restaurant with high expectations as the reviews for this place were relatively good. However my friends and I left with huge disappointment. We used 2 beyond coupons, which consist of 2 Garlic Sauce Kobe Beef Don and 2 Miso Kobe Beef Don, 4 Miso soup and 4 green tea. The first bite was good as the meat was tender. However, after that very first bite, the dish tasted mediocre with no wow factor. Even with the given 1 for 1 deal the bill totaled up to about $12.5 each which was honestly not worth it due to the small portion, and I felt that the premium price tag on it wasn't worth it. I believe you can easily find a better and cheaper place serving similar dishes. Last but not least, the worst part of our dining experience was, we specifically matched the prices of the dish to be the same as the ones we were getting for free (22.9 for Garlic and 21.9 for Miso). The cashier, however went to charge 2 dishes of Garlic and deemed the Miso as the free one which I felt was extremely absurd and stupid since she was making us pay more by matching the higher value for both coupons. I honestly feel it's illogical as why would I have gotten dishes that were of lower value knowing that I would be charged at the higher price. She should've charged 1 coupon under Miso and the other under garlic. I would say, they earned that few extra bucks but lost customers due to their bad and dishonest service. All in all, I would rate our experience

Taste: 7/10 (very normal)
Ambiance: 7/10 (very cramped)
Portion: 6/10 (small)
Price: 2/10 (not worth it even with beyond)

$16.90 ( $9.90 for the bowl + $7 for the fatty tuna belly)

The truffle rice tasted amazing and every mouth felt better than the previous. Not a huge fan of rice, but I would definitely want to have an additional portion of rice here! The tuna was lightly seared, and tasted delicious. Salmon's quality could be better, but hey, for $9.90 this is amazing! The fatty tuna was good but i could have gone without it.

Milk tea is ok, pearls are amazing. Chewy with flowery taste. 6.5/10

Looks really good, but the taste is just average. For $6.80, the chicken mentaiko don might look extremely appetizing and value for the price. However, it might not be wise to purchase this as the taste is just alright. The rice is relatively hard, and the chicken tastes really average. The only saving grace is the mentaiko sauce which made it a little better. Mentaiko roll [$5.80] was really not worth the price as well as the rice is once again, hard. The crabstick was not fresh and the salmon tasted pretty bland. Overall a 5/10.

The Premium Chirashi Don ($26.9) was one of the best meals that i had! I personally visit The Sushi Bar quite often, usually getting a variety of sushis. This time, I decided to try something new. Salmon Sashimi was really thick and fresh. The tuna was not bloody and was very easy to eat. It was my first time trying the other two sashimis - mekajiki and hamachi. They were both very delicious as well. Topped with ikura and two scallops, the chirashi don made my belly really happy! The food quality at The Sushi Bar is very consistent, and the sashimi are usually very thick and fresh. Definitely visit this place if you are looking for good sashimi without breaking the bank.
