Finally satisfied my craving for Hokkien Mee. Food Opera @ ION remains one of my fave places to eat, with many good stalls, atmosphere of a casual restaurant but at food court prices.
This Hokkien Mee is just the way I like it - super wet, good mix of yellow noodles & bee hoon, with pretty fresh prawns of a good size (i.e. not tiny). #burp 😁
I just love the affordable prices of their salad bowls and their Japanese Sesame dressing has spoilt me cos I just can't find the same taste elsewhere! Today I was extra pleased to see Jess, the brains behind this lovely salad chain, at the shop! I first met Jess 2 years back when she very kindly agreed to an interview for a group project for school on women entrepreneurs, and back then she had just started her 2nd salad stall at Golden Shoe aka Market Street Food Centre (the first being at Amoy Street Food Centre). They are the true pioneers behind bringing salads into hawker centres, with the objective of making healthy eating more affordable. Flash forward to today, where there are so many different stalls serving up salads and cold-pressed juices in hawker centres within the CBD. If you work in the CBD and haven't tried The Salad Corner's salads, try it today! It's $5.90 for a basic salad bowl (mixed leaves + 5 toppings + 1 dressing). Can't wait till I get home to eat mine! 😊👍
