Snowy Cherry Blossom Chawanmushi Serving as a timely and refreshing intermission, Shin Minori's Snowy Cherry Blossom Chawanmushi offered a nice dose of sweetness. Masking the all-familiar Steamed Egg dish with a fluffy blanket of egg white foam, the intriguing rendition was topped with Pink Sakura Denbu and Tobiko - a pleasant textural contrast to the smooth custard. Thank you @burpple for the invite and @shinminorisg for the yummy food!

Kaisen Nabemono To warm your belly, the lineup from Shin Minori’s Lunch and Weekday Dinner Omizu Buffet also includes a Mini Hot Pot of various protein options. And so we had the Kaisen Nabemono that came with assorted vegetables, prawns, mussels, scallops, baby squid, tofu and noodles. Pairing the ingredients with Spicy Miso and Clear Soup, the former provided a savoury yet slow-burning kick at the back of your throat while the latter was a more gentle and comforting dashi-like base.

Sashimi Moriwase A snip at $53.90++ per adult, save even more with Burpple Beyond’s 1-for-1 deal on Shin Minori’s Lunch and Weekday Dinner Omizu Buffet. With 223 items on the ala carte menu, one is free to indulge in endless sashimi, maki, teppanyaki, grilled meats, deep-fried dishes and more! Apart from the crazy selection and affordable price point, the quality is worth mentioning too in my opinion. Having the Sashimi Moriwase, a standard platter is adorned with 6 assorted sashimi, 2 to 3 slices of each kind per order. Hence, we got to sample fresh Ika, Salmon Belly, Karachi Maguro Tataki, Shake, Maguro and Hamachi. Vibrant and sweet-tasting, each slice were so satisfying and of the ideal thickness. My favourite being the almost melty and definitely fatty Salmon Belly.

Quirky fusion udon. I enjoyed this 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗶 𝘂𝗱𝗼𝗻, however the portion leaned towards the smaller side. The highlight was undoubtedly the creamy and umami sauce; beef and udon were decent, but the sauce really helped to elevate the rest of the dish. Their inclusion of a free-flow salad and drinks bar was also very welcome. I would be tempted to return if I had a craving for interesting udon options. ----- 📍 47 Bencoolen St, #01-02 Hotel Bencoolen, Singapore 189626 ⏱️ (Daily) 11am-10pm

Roast Beef Uni Udon ($13.28 With Chope) Yummy yummy yummy! 😋😋 Loved the thick chewy udon in their sauce that’s not too heavy to be jelat nor too light to be lacking in flavour! Slides of roast beef was nicely prepared with just the right sliver of fats and redness, while maintaining the thinness of each slice 🤤🤤 A definite plus point has to be their free flow salad and drinks bar that comes with a huge variety of raw vegetables (edamame, beetroot, zucchini, corn and many other usual veggies) that are uber fresh and lovely with their homemade warm sauce (and many other japanese sauces including sesame kewpie!), soup (minestrone) and legit green tea. What’s more it’s such an amazing deal with chope/Burpple, so definitely do give this a try 👍🏻👍🏻

Seafood Carbonara Udon ($13.28 With Chope) Enjoyed the chewy udon in light creamy sauce with generous generous portions of seafood (squid, baby abalone, prawns)! And just a shoutout to that attention to detail cause the addition of walnuts gave it such a nice crunch and changed up the soft chewy texture! 🤤🤤 A definite plus point has to be their free flow salad and drinks bar that comes with a huge variety of raw vegetables (edamame, beetroot, zucchini, corn and many other usual veggies) that are uber fresh and lovely with their homemade warm sauce (and many other japanese sauces including sesame kewpie!), soup (minestrone) and legit green tea.
