I think I’ve eaten this at least ten times over the past three years, no kidding. Anything at La Pizzaiola is great, but I especially love the carbonara- there is a bite that comes with fettuccine and the rich creamy sauce is offset by pancetta. You’ll be scraping the plate.

Prior to visiting I’d read reviews about the roll being a little small & stingy - they were right, but since we’re eating lobster in Singapore, I’d say the price point is very decent with the Burpple one for one deal.

We tried the four top flavors- original, Connecticut, cheesy and mentaiko. If you like eating bland lobster, the original is for you- if not, the $2 top up for something more savoury works well in your tastebuds’ favour. Skip the cheese- it cheapens your seafood.

If you notice my thumb next to the slice of Swedish bread, you’ll realize just how small this portion is. (Also, my hands are tiny.) For $16 - even though there was no service charge and GST - this was really not okay.

Bread was toasted to the point that my lunch bud and I couldn’t cut through it. This dish is filed under “sandwiches” and it really just is that- smoked salmon, cheese-yogurt, and a bit of garnish, nothing more.

Having been to a couple of BTK outlets, I must say the new one at Century Square has the cheapest price point prolly cos of its heartland location!

While the main egg was undercooked (egg whites still disturbingly clear and runny), taste was great and generous for the price. This dish fed three girls easily.

Much bigger than what it looked like in the menu, so this was a pleasant surprise and a surprising find too in Boon Tong Kee!

This place used to be occupied by Crust and I remember being blown away by their Moroccan Lamb version. TWB didn’t disappoint - lamb was tasty, sufficiently gamey while not being smelly and the meat was very generous. I would eat this again on Burpple.

Ordered the two house specials, Beef Steak & Moroccan Lamb. While the beef wasn’t entirely steak I did appreciate that it was tender and tasted great. The accompanying tiger prawns, though overcooked, blended well with the red peppers.

Only downside? At $29++ for a 9” pizza, I don’t think I’d come here without Burpple Beyond.

I’ve been meaning to try this for years and this did not disappoint. Waffles were perfectly crisp yet chewy on the inside, chicken was AMAZING yet not too salty and went perfectly with the syrup sauce. I was a convert the moment my knife cut straight into the chicken with a satisfying crunch.

Stumbled upon this little joint at Jewel for its affordability compared to the other options. Their Poke Bowl had delicious chunks of salmon that you could really sink your teeth into and their stew (pictured) tastes much better than it looks. Their burger really surprised me with a tasty and generous salmon patty though it was a tad salty. Definitely a must try!

I honestly really want to like The Coffee Academics but I’ve been to this outlet three times and service was terrible.
Tried both all-day breakfast recommended items. The breakfast platter was surprisingly filling but my mother (new to this trend) was very upset I had dragged her away from a similar Ikea breakfast for this. The scrambled eggs were a huge letdown and I waited nearly fifteen minutes for salt and pepper. My vote goes to ikea, kopitiam or my own kitchen hands down.

The salmon poached eggs (pictured) on hash were decent. A tad too much dou miao taste but hash brown was perfectly golden and crisp. I wouldn’t pay for this again though.
