Dined with a group of 4. Sharing 3 mains with 2 sides each.

It was a rather small restaurant, but with a very cosy yet charming interior. Feels like a classy American diner with a Gatsby charm to it.

We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Nashville Hot Chicken, and about every side dish they had. The first two mains were pretty tasty. Freshly fried and juicy, but not too greasy. Nashville was a miss though. It was sweet yet savoury, but not in a good way that we enjoyed.

We really enjoyed the mash potatoes and mac & cheese. Coleslaw wasn't too heavily drenched in sauce too.

We wanted to try the No Frills Cheeseburger, as it look really good on our neighbouring tables, but we were too stuffed.

Overall, great casual place for catchup with friends! It was rather quiet on a Friday night, but it was still rather new then. They do accept reservations anyway, so why not? (:

Highly recommended to come during lunch hour on weekends! No crowds at all, and you get to try their exceptionally fresh and delicious maguro sashimi and valuable set lunches!

Bought my bf here for his birthday treat, and he was so happy! He ordered the Bluefin Tuna Scraped Torched Rice Bowl set, while I got the Bara Chirashi Don set. Both was excellent. My cubes of sashimi were crisp with sweetness and freshness. Bf's tuna was torched to perfection. Had the right balance of charred-ness, yet still semi raw on the inside. Soooo good. I'm salivating again while thinking about it!

We also shared a Megumi Gunkan, topped with Uni. Tastiest symphony I've ever eaten. The mix of flavours from the fresh minced maguro, uni and roe was brilliant! And the serving size of the the minced maguro was so generous, that we had trouble eating it as a whole! Not a trouble that we mind having though :D

If you're really hungry, and craving for a bowl of Chirashi Don, here's the place to come.

Came here for dinner, at about 8pm on a Thursday night. Bf and I, and with his brother and gf, were really hungry, so we shared a 2 Giant Chirashi with 8 kinds of seafood, including salmon and maguro ($34). Though it states that 1 Giant Don is enough for 2 to 3 pax, the 2 couples managed to walloped both bowls comfortably. They may seem ginormous, but it's actually pretty alright as the layer of rice was pretty thin.

Generous serving of sashimi, though we have tasted better ones before. But for the price, plus the crazy craving for chirashi, we have no complains! #burpplesushimonth

Had my brunch here 2 weekends in a row. Yes it was that good. Just remember to make reservations at least a few days before. When we were sitting at the tables, on both Saturdays, they has to turn down quite a number of disappointed customers who did not make any reservations.

Food was exceptional! On my first visit, I couldn't decide what to have, and ended up getting their sample platter. It consists of all 3 of their stars: pancakes, french toast and waffles. Served with vanilla ice cream, honey and jam. For $15, it's pretty darn worth it. The first time I had their ice cream, it was a tad icy, though the taste of vanilla was pure and delicious.

On my second visit, I had their Matcha Tiramisu Pancake, that was served with a generous serving of mascapone cheese and matcha sauce (separately), and ice cream. This time round, I have no complains about the ice cream. It was much creamier than before. The pancakes were so fluffyyyyyy! Together with all the condiments, I was grinning like a child throughout my entire meal.

Bf had Karaage Waffle (second time we are trying this). I know many of you must be thinking if the fried chicken is too oily for the waffle. Fear not! It's soooooo tender and juicy, and not greasy at all! Amazingly, it went well with the waffle, which was served with a side of honey.

Everything was so delicious! I'm definitely coming back here again soon! Just remember not to order their cappuccino. Other than that, THUMBS UP!

Finally, a queue-less way to Tanuki Raw. Went there on a Friday night. Was much quieter than the crazy outlet at Somerset. However, the ambience at somerset was much better. But only because it's situated inside Kapok, so I guess they can't do much about it.

Menu was a little limited. Food was still as awesome. I had Truffle Yakinuki Don, and Truffle Sweet Potato Fries.

If I had a choice, I would rather go to the Somerset outlet. But if you just wanna have a quick Don fix, just head to Kapok's outlet.

Ramen was abit overcooked, though we opted for the 'normal' level of texture. Broth was ok. I ordered the black garlic flavour, but it wasn't very tasty. It tasted more like their original broth, with just a pinch of garlic. Spicy red broth wasn't as spicy either. It's an OKAY ramen place to go, if you want something that is slightly more accessible than the neighboring Japanese restaurants street at Cuppage.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Was surprised at how packed it was, as it was at an odd time, about 4pm. Service was top notch! And there's was an ongoing promotion of 1-for-1 for all coffees, that was pretty awesome. Shared a fried chicken sandwich with my mum, as the portion was pretty big. It was served with Cajun fries. So tasty! For 2 coffees and 1 large sandwich, total bill amounted to $21. Both of us left feeling happy and satisfied 😋
