Cafe hopping on weekends becomes so precious when you work 5 days a week and have school work to do. Probably will be missing brunches for a while.. (p.s foodies out there, feel free to hit me up too🍴😌)

Located along middle road, it's actually below the road level. There wasn't any signboards outside, we almost missed it thinking it was just a hotel beneath, till I glimpsed the familiar settings of the cafe below just beside the hotel reception area. (good to get yourself prepared with investigations of the place first huh hahaha) Reached at 11.30am and left at 12+ when it was slowly filling up (like a quarter or less) Ordered a cuppa and the highly raved taro waffles! Paired with sea salt caramel ice cream. Wrong choice as I find the flavour of the ice cream too overpowering and just didn't click with my taste buds. Decided to order an additional scoop of their earl grey ice cream to go with the remaining waffles.. and it was good! Not too overpowering, not too sweet but just really fragrant and smooth. Total bill was about $25. Verdict: Really love the taro waffles with earl grey ice cream 😍 so if you happen to be a taro lover too, just head there straight, and don't turn back. There's no turning back afterwards.

This new desserts cafe opened just a while back, and I've already heard so much positiveness about it that I just had to head down and order one toast myself asap. Reached at 1+pm and the place was packed. Returned again after half an hour before we got a seat. Ordered their nutella toast which comes with a standard scoop of vanilla and ferrero rocher ice cream. Can't change the standard scoops, but I just had to order an additional scoop of one of their interesting flavours I've heard so much about. Settled for the white truffle.. which was the best man omg. I felt as though I was eating truffle fries, but then eh ice cream. so good we were literally fighting over it. 😍😍 The toast was not bad itself, fluffy inside and not too crispy on the outside like how i liked it. The ferrero rocher and vanilla ice cream was good but more normal imo. Total bill tgt with a cuppa cost around $20 i rmb. Verdict: Definitely going back again for their other toasts, waffles and of course ice cream!! πŸ™†

Been hearing so much about their ambience and food I just had to head there for lunch soon! Located at 65 Tras Street (a few mins walk from tanjong pagar mrt), reached this place before 11.30 (suppose to open at 11.30am but it is opened earlier at 11 for coffees and their kitchen is only open at 11.30) and there were already customers there. Probably because it was public hols. A good thing we were early as we had to "return back" the table by 1pm due to reservations though. Early as I was just abit particular in choosing this only table in the restaurant that has the brightest natural lightings and facing those pretty greens πŸ˜‚ I mean chic ambience with marble tables, greens, natural lights? I'm sold. Not only was ambience great, service was great and the food? Amazing. Items featured in the photo includes: Braised Pork Belly rice bowl $16/Butter Poached Cod $18/Liu Sha Donuts $7/Cafe Latte $/Strawberry Iced Tea $. Can't really rmb the drinks prices tho damn. The rice bowls were amazing though I personally preferred the braised pork belly more than the cod (I realised the cod was naked white, not covered with the sauce as seen on other pictures) But I didn't really realise it until we went off so oh well πŸ˜… The liu sha donuts was delish, just a tad too sweet from the sugar coatings but salted egg york is 😍😍😍 The only thing disappointing was the iced tea though but the rest of the food, service, and ambience more than made up for it. This place is a must go really. 4.50/5.0.

No, it's not a club. It's a cafe! Bet you already know that, I'm quite late in paying here a visit ._. HAHA. Maybe cos it's located near club street.. go along club street and turn into Gemmill Ln, and that's where you will find this attractive looking bar cafe at the quiet corner of the road, which gives off a manhattan vibe. It serves all day breakfast as well. Paid a visit early on a saturday and was one of the first customers there. Left by 11 and it was still quite empty. Items featured in the photo includes: Ricotta Pancakes with orange maple & cream $14/scrambled eggs with fontina & chives $13 w added on smoked salmon, mushrooms & sausage $10/Latte $5.50. Verdict: Food wasn't mind blowing, especially their signature scrambled eggs which i personally felt wasn't that amazing. Their pancakes were thin and fluffy which was the better dish here imo, and also, plus points for their amazing ambience. I would have ordered their recommended truffle toast but these 2 plates were pretty filling for 2. Prolly wouldn't return again in the short run, but this place is still worth a visit for their pancakes & other dishes! 3.8/5.0

Located in JB Jalan Dhoby (5-10mins walk from city square), it's my first overseas cafe experience!πŸ˜‚ (sry this might be a long post) Crossed the borders bright and early in the morning and reached city square at 9.15 whereby I spent half an hour trying to find the place cos the construction was blocking up some roads I was initially gonna take, armed with screenshots of my GPS map back I took in sg, and without GPS and proper street signs along the way, it was hard to find. Reached at 9.45am and even though it was supposed to open at 10am, it was opened early and there were already groups of people inside. This quaint cafe had such a pretty interior with its wooden tables and marble & patterned tiles, flower vases and the famous kinfolk magazine. yes, a very "kinfolkish" cafe. 😍 Service was prompt being the first few customers there, and the food was quite good. The coffee not so much though. Went off at 11.30am when the place became completely crowded. Items featured in the menu includes: The Breakfast Platter RM25.90/ B&B French Toast RM 17.90/ Latte RM10. Total bill sums up to about 20 Sing Dollars only?? Verdict: Really love the ambience and food here, especially the B(acon)&B(anana) French Toast with vanilla ice cream. But situated across the borders, I prolly won't be back again so often 😒 would probably give other cafes a try when I do! 4.1/5.0.

Located at 22 martin road, this cafe is not easily accessible via train/bus so do prepare to walk a distance. Most of the customers are foreigners, probably residents staying in the area. Arrived at about 10+ and the place was already half filled, chose the alfresco seats which had natural lighting (only the ones near the entrance), and which had nice wooden tables, and my fav plants πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Left at 12 when the crowd started to fill the place. Items featured in the photo includes: Common Man Full Breakfast $26/ Egg benedict $24/ Latte $5/ Mocha $6. Verdict: The total bill sums up to about $70 which was on the pricey side. The egg benedict, organic eggs on tender braised ox cheeks was great. Love the ox cheeks 😍 The full breakfast was not bad as well, but with its plate of bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and pork cannellini beans aside eggs, tomatoes, mushroom and toast, it became too much of a portion being on the "meaty and salty" side πŸ˜… The coffee was good though! 4.2/5.0

Brunch is only available on weekends, opens from 9.30am onwards. Located in a far corner of Singapore in Punggol at 10 Tebing Lane, it was the.. nearest cafe to me πŸ™Œ (Alight at LRT Riveria and walk 5-10mins) Decided to go early on a saturday thinking I'd be the first few to arrive anyway since it's so ulu.. but only 9.45am and the place was almost three quarters filled πŸ˜… But the ambience was great, being open spaced and facing the park/reservoir. It's a different experience from the usual cafes. Items featured in the photo includes: Egg benedict (poached eggs with hollandaise sauce on waffles) with choice of sauteed mushrooms $10.80/Ham & Pinapple Pizza $16.80/ Latte $5-6 (can't rmbπŸ˜“) Verdict: The egg benedict waffles wasn't as good as the first time I tried it (this was my second visit here) and it was all soft, soggy and tasted weird. And also, I should have stuck with my fav smoked salmon instead of those mushrooms.. But! The pizza saved the day. I'm not really a pizza person, but it was delish enough to me 😍 I hope their waffles standard would go back to the first time I was here 4 months ago though. 4.0/5.0.

Located just outside Bukit Timah Plaza, it only starts serving brunch food from 10am onwardsπŸ˜… went so early I had to wait. But as it was father's day, the place was already filled before 10am. Dads were offered a free cup of latte on this day too 😊 Food was good! Though despite the rave, I couldn't really taste that unique yuzu sauce for my egg benz (Ocean Thirteen) But it was still not bad. Items featured in the picture include: Ocean Thirteen $17/The Conquistador $19/BYOB with so many items it amounted to $21. Verdict: Love the food here. Surprisingly, the BYOB breakfast platter is more appetising to me. Imo, it's better than most mediocre egg benz and breakfast food out there! 4.30/5.0.

Crown bakery & Cafe is located at the crown centre, at bukit Timah, and their dine-in menu is only available from 9.30am onwards even though the bakery opens at 7.30am. It was a scorching hot morning and outside seating is hell, but indoors seating is quite limited. Food was not as good as expected with its egg benz too salty and waffle too soft/soggy (not the crispy-outside-fluffy-inside kind of waffle, plus the taste was abit weird) The only thing I liked most was the earl pear bread pudding, which was fragant with every bite. Items featured in the picture include: Royal Eggs Royale $19/Crown sourdough buttermilk waffles with ice cream and fruits $9/Earl pear bread pudding $12. Verdict: Dine-in food I had for some was quite disappointing. But you might still want to give their better known breads a try. 3.50/5.0.
