Spaghetti Napolitano What... what happened to the sauce and the cream.... They used to cover the whole diameter of the plate. That's still how the menu image looks like, too. The pasta is still tasty, but... my cream... :(
Mentaiko Gnocchi Set ($22.90) I'm a huge fan of the Mentaiko pasta to be found at Kabe no Ana and was excited to see a Mentaiko Gnocchi on their Mentaiko Madness special menu. The mentaiko cream sauce was amazing, as per their usual standard. The mentaiko added a wonderful umami flavour to the cream sauce that made an already addictive cream sauce even more addictive! The ikura salmon roe was also a delightful addition, with bursts of umami flavour everywhere, adding so much complexity to the texture of the dish. It was a pity though that the gnocchi was rather dense and hard, because this would have been perfect with soft, pillow-y gnocchi. I still enjoyed the dish anyway with much credit to that addictive mentaiko cream sauce. The set at $22.90 is also a very good deal as it comes with a side of smoked duck and grapefruit salad, and breaded iberico pork, and a glass of ume sparking juice. ➡️ Full review: http://zhencaneat.blogspot.sg/2018/04/mentaiko-madness-kabe-no-ana.html

Baaa-Ger & Beef Baconator As we ate the Baaa-Ger first when it came together with the Baconator, it’s still warm and the juiciness of the patty is paired well with the sauce and the sauce ratio with the Lamb patty is perfect as compared to the Baconator. For the Baconator, as we ate this after the lamb burger, we felt that the beef patty is a little on the dry side and the beef bacon is more like a dried beef unlike the usual bacon slices. Overall: The burger portions are huge and the fries is very crispy. As we were sharing it, they were nice enough to cut it in half based on our request. Ambience is quiet and the place is well air-conditioned. There is free wifi in the restaurant too. For a burpple beyond 1-for-1 deals, it’s worth the price. This place is worth to visit again.

Really One Of The Best Burgers I've Eaten! Still one of the places with the best burgers - although the waiting time was unusually long that day, our patience paid off as we were greeted by this wonderful Cheese and Whiskers ($18.90 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond). The brioche bun had the satisfying crispy exterior, the thick cheese layer although not stringy, had the deep salty milky taste and the patty was so tender. The sauce in the burger wonderfully completed the experience! The fries are worth a mention; so satisfying crispy and fluffy even when it's cold!
Classic Beef ($13.90) Really juicy beef patty complemented by the delectable onion jam. An instant midday mood-lifter :) I ordered directly at the shop and managed to get my food within 20 min, which is quite fast considering the number of orders they probably get through food delivery apps!!

The Hyped-up Mochi Croissants (~$5+) Brotherbird Milk & Croissants created this bubble tea mochi croissant recently, hopping onto the bandwagon of boba trends and I had never actually tried their croissants before. I’d seen them on instagram but like never really travelled the way to get them, so I had rather high expectations from the hype. 🥐 I was rather disappointed. I ordered the Rocher Croissant ($5) and the Boba Croissant ($5.50) at the Stateland Cafe where they have this small popup glass display of their croissants. Perhaps it became a little soggy and the crust had absorbed all the filling, but the boba croissant had barely any filling left and the pearls were all that were inside a pretty soggy crust. Maybe because I went late at around 6pm? But I think if something spoils or loses quality in a few hours, maybe they should pipe fillings upon order?☕️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Rocher croissant was okay I guess - it was filled with nutella and coated in chocolate. It was also a little soggy, but better than the boba croissant. It’s coated with chocolate so I see reheating it as a bit of an issue. Maybe I’ll come back and try them fresh; but at this point I don’t really understand what the difference between a mochi croissant and a normal croissant is. Verdict: 6.5/10
Cookie Butter Soft Serve With Earl Grey Chocolate Mochi Burst Oops this is a ridiculously backdated post, they don’t serve this dessert anymore :p I love the mochi bursts, they are chewy and served hot. With the earl grey chocolate which is fragrant and flowy, this is a real treat :) The soft serve however, didn’t really make an impact as the cookie butter taste was lost (perhaps due to the presence of the flavourful mochi donuts).

Rocher Croissant ($5) Finally laid my hands on brotherbird’s croissants!! Truly a good croissant with many flaky layers and the crunchiness of the exterior went well with the inner smooth nutella filling. They were not stingy at all with the filling but I do wish it was a little less sweet - perhaps a darker chocolate hazelnut filling? Got this for takeaway but I know I’ll be back to just chill in this cafe :)

Eclair, Pie, Drink! ($25.50 for 2 w BB) Finally got to try this place - had their 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 & 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐢𝐞 ($12) while my friend got the 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞⁣. Gotta say i really enjoyed the pie, the crust was slightly sweet while the fillings were savoury. My friend really enjoyed her quiche as well. The quiche crust didnt really taste like much probably because of the chix & bacon pie's crust. For desserts, we had the 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 ($8) + 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 & 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐧 (?). Tbh didnt understand why they would serve us that first HAHAHA by the time we actually got round to eating it, the cream wasnt cold. and eclairs shiok part is the cream inside!! so it fell short of expectations. Preferred the Paris Brest because it reminded me of kinder bueno LOL the other one had white choco on it and was wayyy too sweet. Their drinks (matcha latte -$5.50 and hot choco) were q mehh too hahaha but their pie is rly nubbad :')
Love the Eclaires!! Love the ambience and definitely the eclaires!! 2 drinks + 2 eclaires w burpple 1f1 @13.50 worth 🌞
Eclaires, Tea & Coffee Savored the matcha, dark chocolate and raspberry eclairs. Personally found the raspberry one the best as it was refreshingly good and not too sweet! Do note however that the 1 for 1 deal cannot be crossed shared with more than 2 pax. Everyone has to order an item.
