Peanut Butter Scoop + Soft Serve [$6.50] As a kid, I always remembered wanting to eat cookie dough as it is. Eventually, I got to do so - through Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice-cream and it was oh so good. Having tried the cookie dough shop in London about a year ago, I was pretty keen to try the local Dohkie and was glad that the cookie dough craze made it's way to the shores over here. With different flavours such as Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter and a new Bandung inspired that features a pinkish dough batter - it was a little difficult to choose. I initially tried the Bandung flavour, thus decided to go with Peanut Butter for my second visit - I love LOVE peanut butter. Adding the soft serve is a definite must - cookie dough by itself is sickeningly sweet and I don't think any single person can finish a whole scoop without feeling nauseous. The soft serve perfectly complements the cookie dough and cuts the sweetness to balance it out. Aww yiss. PS: I'm actually kinda curious about buying home the cookie dough and baking it like a normal cookie. Maybe I shall one day.

Peanut Butter Single Scoop Cup + Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream [$4 + $2.50] Preferred the Cookies & Cream flavour to the Peanut Butter for the ‘doughiness’ is not as strong, but the latter is a teeny bit less sweet with hints of saltiness. Still best to have them paired with their vanilla soft serve to cut the heaviness. Get them 1 for 1 with Burpple Beyond!

Petite Fours Retailing at #1872clippertea, Elijah Pies’ Petite Fours come in Wild Berry Lavender, Yuzu Meringue, Matcha Avocado and Earl Grey Rose. Crumbly and not too sweet, these mini pies will set you back by $12.90 a set. But truly a feast for the eyes, the one-bite tartlets packed good flavours as well. The Wild Berry Lavender combines blueberry and fresh yogurt infused with a hint of lavender, giving it a tart yet fruity floral note. Similarly, offering a refreshing and zesty kick, the Yuzu Meringue resembled a more rounded dose of lemon custard. The Matcha Avocado was creamy and presented a sweet-earthy filling. And one for the tea lovers, the Earl Grey Rose was a nice blend of the two key ingredients.

stuffed donuts Well known for its croissants, Brotherbird also serves a dessert menu at Stateland Cafe! We tried the mochi doughnuts with soft serve ($14). The doughnuts were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with piping hot earl grey syrup spilling out from inside. The slightly-sweet tea flavour added dimension to the savoury doughnuts! The speculoos soft serve was a little icy and a tad too sweet, tasting more like regular vanilla than caramelised cookies. I’d deem this a one and done - I’ll be sticking to their croissants the next time!

Ferrero and Banana Creampie Crossaints Oh, for the love of crossaints. Pre-ordered a box of these delicious bakes, and boy was I torn amongst the innovative yet exquisite flavors on display. The pastries at Brotherbird are fun, visually attractive and generous in size. They also deliver in the taste department, made flaky and crusty, but slightly less buttery than a traditional crossaint- allowing the custard fillings to claim centre stage. Of my box of 6, the banana cream pie cruffin shone as it was generously pipped to the brim with a lucious creamy banana cream ganache, which I must applaud for its balance of fruity and milky notes. The flaky pasty was the perfect medium for the subtle-tasting cream, every bite was satisfying without being overwhelmingly rich. Another of notable mention is the Ferrero Crossaint- a timeless combination of chocolate coated crossaint filled with a viscous hazelnut rocher ganache. Biting through the crispy rocher ganache dusted with gold-colored flakes, layered sweet pastry and finally the flowy-middle- these were reminisent of good-old Krispy Kreme's nutella-filled donut, turned up a notch.

Grand Tonkotsu Ramen ($13.90++) What is jealousy? Some might simply say that it is an emotion. Others might think it is an uncontrollable philosophy. When one perceives a feeling or a thought that appears to threaten the very fabric of their reality, often times jealousy would come to precede agitation. And that ladies and gentlemen, is how I feel towards my second favourite ramen restaurant only being available in the East and North while my waking desire for a warm bowl of ramen brews with envy for days on end. Sō Ramen prides itself on its affordable bowls of hot piping ramen served with simplicity in mind. Walking in to the restaurant alone presents you with an air of refinement and aptitude while still maintaining a depth of homeliness. From watching the chefs tirelessly cooking up a pot of broth that will then go on to serve hundreds of customers a day, one could truly experience their ramen first-hand from the very beginning. Their Grand Tonkotsu Ramen ($13.90++) is truly a remarkable bowl of ramen, hailing from a pristine silver place in my heart. The tonkotsu broth fused beautifully with their aromatic black garlic sauce, achieving a refined and effervescent soup that is both flavourful and light all at once. What’s even more incredible has to be the generous trifecta of luscious melt in your mouth various pork cuts. The holy trinity features a sublime Toroniku (braised pork cheek), Cha Shu (braised pork belly in cha shu) and my personal favourite, a thick and hearty slab of Buta Kakuni (braised pork belly in special sauce). Don’t even think about leaving the establishment without trying their Mustard Chicken ($3.80), a serving of golden-brown fried chicken drizzled with a playfully tangy vinaigrette and mustard seeds for a mild acidity that helps to cut through any greasy goodness from the chicken.

SO RAMEN The more the merrier!! I believe this is the concept behind the creation of this master piece. There's not 1, not 2 but 3 kinds of truffle in this! There's the puree, oil and slice~ ⚫🍄 The truffle aroma was so strong I could smell it when they serve this. The earthy, fragrant tones of truffle permeate through the rich porky broth. Most of us know and love tonkotsu ramen, and you wont be able to resist the addition of TRUFFLE! Topped with Cha Shu, crunchy cabbage, half a braised egg, and garnished with chilli threads and sliced truffles! The truffle ramen set comes with a Super Yuzu drink which was delicious as well! This promo ends on 30th April!

Lovely Lamb-shoulder ($24) This dish was a really pleasant one and all the elements came together really well. The lamb was perfectly cooked; it was really tender. While there was a slight gamey-ness (only a tinge) to the lamb, we like this aspect of it. The pomegrenate really gave a nice pop to this dish and an added brightness. Finally, the quinoa nestled at the bottom of the plate soaked up all the juices from the lamb, and made for a great mouthful altogether. MUST ORDER💯

Satisfying Scotch-eggs ($12) We don’t believe this is a dish that’s served that commonly in Singapore, hence we decided to order it. While not perfect, it was a pretty satisfying dish overall. The sausage did not have too intense a flavor to it, and was thankfully not overdone. The chutney seemed to be the star of the show, with its acidity and bite giving good contrast to the dish. However, we don’t think a scotch egg can be called as such without a molten interior. Also, these were only warm when they arrived at our table, rather than being served piping hot. Can Order👍

Terrific Truffled croque monsieur ($20) Serving this on a slightly sweeter slice of bread (Pilsner loaf it seems) turned out to be an amazing decision by the Chef as it paired perfectly with the myriad of savoury toppings packed within. The gems inside the sandwich included pulled pork, prosciutto as well as tallegio cheese. This was our first time trying this cheese but it’s intense flavor and saltiness really went well with the bread. MUST ORDER💯
