The folks behind Kai Sushi & Grill at the basement of Plaza Singapura had opened yet another concept at level 4 of Plaza Singapura named Kai Sushi and Robataya which serves lunch sets, Chirashi, skewers, Udon and more. The Sake & Ikura Don features salmon sashimi and Ikura roe that comes also with chawanmushi and soup as sides. Salmon sashimi slices were fresh, and the Ikura Roe gave its burst of umami flavour when popped, but it is the small fried balls of dough in the Don that gives this bowl a crunch that makes it less mundane in terms of texture. Pretty decent at $19.80++, and best catch? It's available any time of the day so long they are open ;)
One of the items off Jack Ripper's new menu, it was one of the more interesting items that caught our eye. While it has your normal beef patty, the sauce and toppings are a little more unique: jalapeños, tomato, avocado, and alfalfa sprouts, topped with creamy guacamole. While it did make for an interesting experience, I felt that the guacamole didn't really compliment the flavour of the beef, probably cause it's really rich on its own. Nevertheless the guac was still super smooth and creamy and went well with the other ingredients. If you're looking for something different, I would say choose this one! Priced at $18. This was a tasting courtesy of Jack Ripper.
finally tried 3rd and 6th! the burgers were good as expected, and they have a amazing variety of beers! will be back to get more of the burgers and more beers
It would be a shame if you overlooked Wildfire's steaks, which are as good as – if not better than – their burgers. The INKA charcoal fired Wagyu Hangar Steak is very pleasing to the palate –extremely flavourful, juicy, tender and beautifully seared on the outside. At $36, you'll get 250g of steak, a side of crisp fries and salad. If you're looking for a casual night out and need to satisfy your steak cravings and enjoy some Japanese craft beers, this is the place to be.
