Probably the best durian mousse in Singapore, this delectable dessert consists of silky durian cream and a dollop of durian pulp - a feast for the eyes and the mouth. Great for one - you would want this non-jelat heavenly dessert for yourself!

I suggested to Cat that we try J's for dinner as part of our Entertainer app adventures. The warm fluffy saffron rice dish with marinated chicken, tilapia and salmon is perfectly moist and aromatic. The chicken was amazingly tender and the chunks of salmon was so so fresh! We'd love to go back again for the delicious paella that wins in terms of fuss-free eating and taste.

Seen at Astons: Fiery chicken with garden veggies and mac and cheese. The grilled fiery chicken is one hot chick - it was slightly spicy but well-marinated. 😘 Available for a limited time!

Char-grilled Saga beef sprinkled with fried garlic - look at the lovely pattern of white fat and pinkish-red meat! 😘

Into my mouth it goes, and it's so soft, tender and flavourful! And it's damn cool watching slabs of Saga beef on the chargrill while Teppei works his magic.

Had a quick dinner at the Teppei Syokudo outlet at Ion Orchard with a small DIY serving consisting of salmon, baby scallops and a generous scoop of negitoro! Yum.

Finally tried the highly-acclaimed Gourmet Charcoal Waffles with Salted Egg Yolk and a scoop of Butterbeer Ice Cream (S$6 for charcoal waffles, S$1 for salted egg yolk and S$4.50 for Butterbeer ice cream cos it's premium flavour). Yum. Cat and I agreed that this combination tastes great!

We dropped by at Sixth Avenue for Abalone Mee Pok (S$10). Not too impressed with the mee pok, but the abalone is pretty worth it for the price!

When fat cats meet Fatcat after dinner, they get satiated with themed plated desserts. The Faux Passionfruit (S$18) is a 2-in-1 plated dessert combo with a Pre and a Main. The Main impressed us with the attention to detail in terms of plating and flavour-pairing creativity - it looks almost too pretty to eat! And the passionfruit flavour bursts are so amazing that we fell in love with the dessert.

Probably the best dessert that we've tried so far! On top of that, service was awesome as the servers explained each and every dessert in detail.

Cat and I decided to share a plate and wondered why we did. Let's just say we couldn't decide on either. Both are delicious, not quite dropping from the bone but good enough for us. Astons is an affordable place for us to satisfy our Western food cravings and great for a gathering.

Plans for an outdoor mushroomy BBQ fell through when it rained throughout the evening. Salmon with veggie sides did ease my disappointment a little. Yum.

There is very good reason why this dish is the bestseller in this stall at Alexandra Village Food Centre. These poached wonton dumplings have a umami sweetness and spiciness that does not overpower the senses, and the skin is so slippery and moist that it is a delight to slurp them up one by one. At S$4 for 10 slurpworthy wontons, I'd love to go for these over IKEA food anytime.
