Halal Steamboat Buffet 💕 I didn't regret spending $29 (weekend) to eat here with my loved ones. Theres's a variety of meat and spices, like mutton, beef & chicken. There's also a variety choice of seafood like crayfish, prawn & mussels, i chose tomyam broth instead of chicken because it's the best isn't it? It's your choice 😊 there's so many sauce you can choose from! From local to japanese and korean 😇 there's salad, rojak, desserts like cakes and ice cream! 💕 The drinks wise, it's mainly syrup. There's blueberry, rose, bird's nest, orange, yuzu orange, etc. Soft drinks on the other hand, is excluded 😌 would definitely come and eat here again 😇

The Original $6.50 For the aesthetically pleasing photo and portion size, I'd say $6.50 for this plate of waffles was definitely worth it. The waffles were just average and not crispy and the caramel sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. However, if you're looking for a cozy place to eat aesthetically-pleasing food at an affordable price, this is the place to go! Zulos sells other desserts, such as Churros which they are well known for as well. I asked the staff there, though, and they mentioned that their waffles sell the best :)

Cookies and Cream Milkshake $7.00 $7 for this cup of milkshake was really worth every penny. The picture does no justice to the actual size of this drink! The milkshake was thick and creamy, and overflowing with goodness. As always, being a huge fan of cookies and cream, I have nothing but praise for this drink. If you want a bang for your buck and want to quench your thirst, this is the place to go! The drink is really huge though, and is suitable to be shared between two people! :)

While I like their churros, this waffles did not leave a lasting impression on me. Aesthetically-pleasing granted, the waffles itself was rather chewy, dense, and lacked the pre-requisite buttery taste. Skip the original - add toppings (interesting ones available such as milo malt, kinder bueno and thai iced tea flavours) for an enhanced taste.

Buffet [Jalan Besar, Singapore 🇸🇬] [Hawker Centre] [Halal Thai Steamboat Buffet] Check out Halal Thai steamboat hidden in the lower deck of this hawker centre. It’s the first Halal Thai steamboat in Singapore. We had buffet option which was priced at S$22 per pax with 2 hours time limit. If the time limit is too stressful for you, there’s also set and ala carte versions available. The All-you-can-eat buffet menu may looked limited and did not include seafood items but for the 2 of us we were too full to cover all. Although it’s located in the hawker centre, the place was quite cooling with lots of fan around. Selected chicken broth as the choice of soup base, which was quite savoury on its own. Another option available was Tom Yum. Don’t forget to generously coat the skillet with beef fat before cooking. Beef tongue was an uncommon item for steamboat but the texture was interesting. The NZ Premium Beef may looked quite fatty before cooking but it simply tasted so yummy on its own. There’s also 2 types of spicy dips available to go with the food. We visited the outlet on a weekday night and we could see a continuous flow of customers. As we were seated near the stall, it was easy to get refill for broth, gas, and sauce. We ended the meal with instant noodle and beaten egg in the soup. So shiok! Order Sheet vs. Blank Paper?? Lol Service- to the expectation level of what you’d get in a hawker centre- was prompt & polite by most of the staff, curt by one of them. Pro-tip: Sit near their stall (#01-08) to replenish the soup & sauces. Even better if you’re near the sink to wash your hands 🙃 I ordered 2 rounds of food & that was enough. Was given an order sheet to fill up at the start, but for the 2nd round I was given a blank sheet of paper to write out my full order (referencing the laminated menu)… “You’re not gonna order like 10 items, right?”, I was told. I could’ve. But didn’t feel like it. Thanks Scale Microinfluencers for the invite.

Plain Jane (S$10.90) A rather questionable angle that I captured this shot at, but still, what a beauty the Plain Jane is. It is essentially two brioche burger buns sandwiching a three-finger thick beef patty with melted cheese, a pineapple ring, lettuce, and a pool of black pepper sauce. All that, served with a generous side of curly fries. It is scrumptious and satisfying, yet it doesn't have any outstanding flavour which I was looking forward to. Not disappointed, however. It's for sure miles better than the Western cuisine I have had in other food courts. Also, if you feel like you're up to it, the double version, known as the Messy Joe is also available. That's more pricey at $20, and there are plenty of words of recommendation that you share the challenging portion with one or more person. (7/10)

Salted Egg & Prawns Pasta To be honest, I expected to be bowled over but what happened was not even close to a strike & for its price ($15.90 I believe) for a food court dish, it's a bit steep. Creamy sauces should be just that; creamy, silky & smooth not watery & broth-like. It's as if you're skimping on the milk. Plus, it's a salted EGG sauce which come on, has to be rich. Slight saving grace? The prawns are fresh.
