The regular gelato is really regular.. tbh it looks quite lame (like a gelato plateau). The taste itself was not bad actually, just wished we could have more.
We got the pistachio, dark chocolate, mango sorbet and milk flavoured gelato. Will order the dark chocolate and milk one again.
If you are a dark chocolate lover, you will love most of this platter. Personally, I really like the ice cream, tart and cake on this platter. The dark chocolate taste was really pronounced and the desserts were dense. Don’t really like the tiramisu though.
Got the 1-1 regular BKT meal, together with a bowl of rice ($1) and medium youtiao ($3.60). The soup is not as peppery as other BKT place we’ve been to which makes it more drinkable. The youtiao was fresh and hot too. Not bad overall.
Thai Milk Tea Toast ($9.90) has the right amount of sweetness and buttery taste. We also ordered the Thai Milk Tea ($2.80) and Thai Green Milk Tea ($2.80) which was not bad for the price; tastes normal.
This BBQ buffet offers a charcoal grill to cook all your meats and veggies which provides a really nice smoky flavour to the food. However we discovered that the meat cuts were not always consistent after ordering the same thing over many rounds. The beef short ribs for example, it’s like a roulette on what you’ll get; sometimes it’s super fatty, sometimes its super thick, sometimes it’s super thin. The enoki on the other hand was so good despite being a simple dish.
Really nice skewers (~$2/stick) which can be placed on this box/platform thing over a small fire to help keep the food warm. Really recommend the 羊肉串 and buttered toast.
We ordered additional sides as well which were also quite nice, like the spicy lotus root and mala enoki (not sure what the exact names are)
Really creamy and delicious milk ice cream, perfect for Singapore weather. Portion size is quite small though.
The mango sago has just the right amount of sweetness and sourness from the pomelo. Affordable yet quality dessert 😍
The 龟苓膏 with egg thing on the other hand.. smelt really eggy and tbh it looks like barf.
Truffle mushroom soup is so good! The soup is hot and has a strong truffle taste. 100% would recommend.
Earl Grey Tea with Orange and Lemon was bombz. This unexpected combi is so refreshing and it really soothed my sore throat haha
The Mixed Grill was so so. The pork chop was a little over cooked for one of the sets. The sausage was a little too salty. The food was not hot so it’s not as nice as we would expect. But the overall portion size was quite big. Overall we would give it a 6.5/10.
Got the karaka ramen CNY set from Ippudo, which was ~$18.80 for the ramen and an appetiser.
It was really nice but it’s not as spicy as the last time when I had it (fyi I ordered Very Hot spiciness level). And the noodles weren’t very hard, even though I ordered it Hard. Apart from that, the staff were really attentive.
Ordered the New York and Danish fish and chips and honestly it’s so yumsss! The truffle fries were also hot and well seasoned. Probably the best Fish and Co outlet out of all we’ve been to. (~$20)
