Never did like pork knuckles... until now.
Tried pork knuckles in Germany and it was meh. But then all the reviews were praising this to the sky so I decided to give it a try. And....
It was AMAZING. So tender, melt in your mouth pork, with crispy skin on the outside.
10/10, coming from one who doesn’t even enjoy pork knuckles in general.

AMAZING. Better than the ones in Italy. I picked the bread up and it was literally DRIPPING with truffle and cheese !!!! The bread itself? Omg...

A MUST ORDER!!!

Noodles as you can see from the photo, were soggy. Not much taste to it either. 2/10. Totally not worth your 22 dollars.

Just stick to the starters.

Peanut butter + burger ?! When I saw tyson's peanut butter burger on the menu, I knew I HAVE to try it. The peanut butter went well with the bun, but it didn't add much to the strong taste of the beef. But what I love about this burger is the cheese, which is surprisingly light and serves to cleanse your tastebud from the strong taste of the meat and peanut butter. Recommended to try for its uniqueness!

Eggs royale is a combination of poached eggs on smoked salmon, laid on English muffins, topped with a generous serving of yummy hollandaise sauce. The sides (hash brown and bacon especially) were yummy as well and made the presentation of the dish look better. However, I was disappointed with the English muffin as it was thin and too hard to cut up. I would have preferred the muffin to be thicker and of a fluffier, softer texture, instead of it being almost rock hard.

The MUST HAVE dish at this place will definitely be the butter Marsala chicken. (Picture: metal bowl with white designs on it) Though the portion is miserably small for the price, the sweetness and smoothness of the gravy together with the melt in your mouth tender chicken, is worth the hole in your pocket. What's better is that it opens 24/7. However, I was sorely disappointed with the prata. It was hard to tear due to its apparent lack of crispiness and if you order a prata with filling inside, be prepared to only taste the filling when you get to the centre of the prata.

The ice cream platter at $9 for 3 scoops is a great deal, considering the quality of the ice cream which is comparable to other top ice cream shops such as daily scoop or salted caramel. One memorable flavour was coconut. I was pleasantly surprised as the strong flavour of fragrant coconut burst in my mouth, just like eating sweet coconut flesh. Definitely recommended! And it's conveniently located right outside the National Library too!

Watching the glorious cheese melt and bubble was the highlight of dining at yoogane. Though I wouldn't say that there's anything outstanding about this dish, the concept of spicy marinated chicken with cheese dip is brilliant. However, one drawback is that the cheese dip hardens after awhile. So remember to gobble it up quickly! (Around $56 for 4pax)

This has to be my favourite flavour of Salted Caramel. The heaviness of the chocolate was excellently balanced out by the lightness of the sorbet texture, so you can just keep eating spoon after spoon without getting sick of it. Heard of lemon or strawberry sorbet, but rarely do I hear of chocolate sorbet ($3.60). The other flavours are really good, but none can capture my heart entirely like this flavour does. (I know the picture doesn't do the taste justice, but believe it, it's goooood)

Not your regular cheese or egg prata choice but you definitely won't regret choosing milky prata! ($3) This place is famous for the crispiness of the prata, which never disappoints. Inside, the sweetness of the milk will inevitably bring a smile to your face. Eating this sweet prata with curry may seem like an odd combination at first, but still, do try it! It's weird, but in a nice kind of way.

The crowd at Meng's kitchen is a prelude to the taste of the dish.

The abalone clam Fuzhou fish ball noodles had the freshest ingredients. The fresh clams were the right kind of juicy chewy, a far cry from those typical chew-until-there's-no-more-taste-but-still-need-to-chew clams which most stores sell.

And the fuzhou fish ball was bursting with delicious gravy with every bite (as my unfortunate friend who sat within gravy-spilling distance can testify).

However, the noodles were a tad bit undercooked today. But I guess that's because it was a young chef in charge today, not the older auntie. Nevertheless, this slight compromise in taste will not prevent me from coming back for yet another bowl of bak chor mee.

Thick slices of fresh melt-in-your-mouth sashimi. The must-have of every chirashi don. My personal favourites was the refreshingly sweet tamago, made tastier by the fact that it is slightly chilled. And of course, the swordfish and salmon.

Besides the freshness of the sashimi, the good quality of the Japanese rice with just the right amount of vinegar, is what makes this bowl stand out.

Dish: normal chirasi don ($24.90)
