My favourite char siew bao in Singapore. Unpretentious and delicious, I have been eating this for breakfast ever since my ex-office moved to Joo Chiat road. And that was back in 2010.

Kinda divine how I'm brought back to them again because of work. And through work, I found out that they use premium lean pork shoulder for their charsiew. The meat is then roasted over charcoal fire to give it a smokey taste. Cushioned in the light fluffy bao, it creates waves after waves of delight in the mouth. 😍

Read a positive review of Plum and Rice on 8 Days and was super excited to try it. Japanese style Teochew Mui - sounds delish alrdy. Alas, reality did not match expectations ☹️ It wasn't as good as I had hoped it to be. Their signature braised pork belly was tough and did not melt in my mouth as I had expected. The soup was 😐 Their saving grace was their plum rice which I thoroughly enjoyed. For $4, it's reasonably priced, but unsatisfying and disappointing. Maybe the cod fish set is better.

Random trivia: in the same hawker center, there is this handsome uncle making Kopi and Teh; and there is always a long line of people queueing for his Kopi hehe 😍

It was prawn mee day this Labour Day. Alas, they were sold out of the big prawns by the time we reached at 145pm. The restaurant manager (i assume) told us that it has been raining a lot recently, so the prawns catch has been few. 😰 Oh wells. The prawn soup is really fragrant tho and I enjoyed their signature Mee Kia. Will come back again to try their big prawns! 😎

I had finally satisfy my craving for this One Egg Soup!

I remember it was love at first drink when i first had it in 2009 when we were made guinea pigs to taste out this soup at Everything With Fries. Since then, it was always a starter I would order every time I'm there, and that would be at least once a month.

Now that I had left the company, this was the first time after 5 years since I had it. And I'm so happy that it still tasted like how it should be- familiar and comforting. ☺
