Look at the thickness of each individual slice! And it was fresh too. This certainly satisfied my cravings; only gripe was that the aburi was torched too early and by the time it reached the table, it lost most of the warmth and fragrance. But at $22 nett, this was absolutely a steal! Little wonder that this humble shop could withstand the competition from the popular Sushi Bar just one floor below.

The best part of the set was actually the marinated nasu with it's delicate flavours, as well as the miso soup with a well-balanced stock tasting of niboshi, bonito, kombu and prawns. Thinly sliced and perfectly marinated, the silvers of pork cooked sukiyaki-style came complete with a raw egg. The sweetness of the pork sukiyaki and the egg yolk enriched the broth, and was definitely a sight to behold with small blobs of fat floating on it. The soup was so thick and flavourful that this could almost be considered a tsukemen. The noodles were coated with the thick soup, and the result was a burst of flavour with each mouthful of ramen. A sheer delight, and simply marvelous. The chashu was slightly harder, and does not melt in the mouth, but it feels more substantial this way.
