Although it definitely looks good for the ‘gram, the waffles at Wakey Wakey are lacklustre. It isn’t airy and crisp, just the way I like it.

Similar to our cai png, the Vietnamese broken rice is a mixture of different ingredients on a single plate. The pork chop was marinated well, with a nice smoky char to it. But what stole the limelight for me was the Vietnamese meatloaf! It tastes very similar to steamed egg with minced meat - those that you get from the cai png stall, but the one done here at Mrs Pho has the addition of mushrooms in it, which gives it a umami that rounds off the whole meatloaf.
