Grilled Pork Belly ($26++) Snag my last chance to enjoy 1 for 1 at Joo Bar and no other person to enjoy it with than my mum 😬 It is not difficult to understand why this place is so popular, the slightly pricey Korean small and big bites somehow works with the generous (for light drinkers) low alcoholic content Makgeolli. The above dish feels good till you stop at the salad concoction that surprises you with bites of small anchovies, an excellent well thought side.

Flaming Chick Jumeokbap ($24). Warning: this is really not for the faint-hearted nor diners with low heat tolerance. Served in a hot plate and lit with a flame torch right in front of your eyes, this flaming chick jumeokbap‘s spiciness is not one to be underestimated. Spicy chicken thighs in chunks, pickled radish, shiitake mushroom, king oyster mushrooms and a ball of seaweed rice. Just as the dish was lit with fire, my tongue was too, with the dish. Thought the combination of the side ingredients especially the rice ball was a little out of place in the dish, but overall still decent taste. Perhaps they might want to consider lowering the spiciness.

At $26 for bar snacks, @joobarsg ‘s LA style Black Angus kalbi is pricey and difficult to eat elegantly. But IT IS SO VERY WORTH IT. The bone-in short rib is steeped in some special soy marinade which makes it really nice and sweet and idk just amazing??? Fun Fact: The internet tells us that the “LA Kalbi / Galbi” cut (which means thinly sliced across the bone) originated from Korean immigrants living in Los Angeles. And the LA stands for lateral and not Los Angeles!

Prime Beef cut so good! I like dry aged beef better as the flavour is more concentrated! ✔️1kg Double Cut Dry Aged Porterhouse* (180++): This is like having two different steaks: one side tenderloin and the other side large strip steak. I like the tenderloin side alot, tender, well seasoned and the marbling is good. Feeds two. ✔️250g USDA Prime Grain fed Tenderloin (98++): Prized cut and yes nice chewy texture. ✔️300g Dry aged Irish Grass Fed Ribeye (98++): a little too fatty imo although that gives ribeye its buttery taste. Inconsistent marbling imo. Ambience was great and service was not bad. Overall: ♥️♥️♥️♥️(❤️)

Bone Narrow Is More Flavourful Than Their Steaks The only superior items here are the freshly-baked, hot mini pita bread that you eat with roasted garlic. Good variety of steak cuts. The problem is they are not as flavourful as at premier steakhouses, like Cut, Wolfgang, Morton, or even Bistecca. The only reason I go here is because of the 1-for-1 Entertainer offer, but there you have to be careful because they have a complicated system and not all staff members understand it, and once we were cheated.

Seafood Mee Pok Opted for the upgraded version (additional ingredients and fresh prawns!) which costs $5. Noodles were springy and the upgrade was definitely worth the money. However, the coffeeshop that this store is located in is pretty small and warm so we always have issues finding seats and end up sweating buckets. Overall, I don’t think the bowl of noodles is spectacular enough for me to WANT to squeeze in the small + warm space but I wouldn’t mind heading there if I’m around the area.

🎶Baby, when you finally get to love somebody~ Guess what, it's gonna be MEE~🎶 . Heard that their signature is MEE pok tar, but i've been having sinful meals so i opted for the soup version. This might be a bad decision after all. 🤣 . I liked that the meepok didnt have the unpleasant alkaline or starchy taste, but they were wayyyy too soft for my liking. 😔 Portion of noodles was little too but enough for a lady for lunch. . For $4 a bowl, there was a generous amount of minced meat, tender pork slices & earthy dried mushrooms! 😍😍😍 But where are my pork liver slices? 🤔 . Their fishball was rather huge & bouncy! Meatball was pretty small but had a very firm & chewy texture. These balls were yums! 💕 . Their soup tasted rather savoury but im not sure if that is a result of MSG! 🤣 plus they added the celery leaves that i detest! 😭 . Overall, this is probably not something I would return for. A far-cry from my fav Ming Fa Fishball Noodles! 😔

Mee Pok $5 Far from the blazing spice-fest of yesteryear, the chilli in today's bowl was more akin to a lukewarm after-burn. Unfortunate, since this was their only unique selling point for what is essentially a very average bowl of noodles. Taste: 2.5/5
