$4 Boneless Chicken Rice with home cooked-style soup (winter melon and sweet corn). Roasted chicken was tender and smooth. Rice was a little too oily. Service was efficient and systematic. I may go back to try their chicken cutlet rice! 🤤
$4.50 for a bowl of Yong Tau Foo. Everything in this bowl is above average! Chewy and bouncy meatballs and prawn paste! Love the idea of having prawn paste within because that was what attracted me to want to try Ban Nian in the first place. Also, staff was v thoughtful in asking if bittergourd was to be removed because not many consume bittergourd! 👍🏻 However, this place was relatively difficult to find.
$8.90 for this supposedly 1-serving! Definitely can be shared! Generous amount of beef and vegetables! Love their efficient service too :)
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, to me. Thus, when I’m feeling really sian about work, I will crave for a good brekkie! Long John Silver’s Chicken Sausage Toast Set $5.50 (comes with hash brown and drink) is my teenage’s memory. Now, with a choice of single or double toast, you can decide how filling you want to be. For me, it’s always double!
Known for Tenderfresh’s fried chicken, this does not disappoint too - Crispy & savoury! Affordable at $5 (student price) for 2 chicken wings with egg, rice and bandung. A usual plate is $4.90 without the drink, so still affordable! They offer pastas and other western dishes too! Portion is generally generous, so I would recommend this!
First time trying Springleaf. And boy, I was blown by its efficiency and standard! Awesome for group supper because there are a few outlets in Singapore. The prices are very competitive as compared to *ahem* other Indian supper spots. Because it is always crowded, their pratas are always made-to-order. Love their concept for “self-service” for their curry (THEIR FISH CURRY IS THE BOMB)! And also, I had enough of Indian supper places where they over-charge you without telling you. So this is my new found love~
$1.50 seems cheap at first, but consistency in the quality provided is what makes this $1.50 worth it! Not the best sushi place around, but affordable to satisfy your Japanese cravings once in a while. I hope they bring back their beef sushi thoughhhh #burpple #burpplesg #sushiexpress
One of the more affordable steak place - Hot Tomato! This is originally $12.50, but with student pass ($9.90) is super worth it for quality steak! Grilled with a slight crispiness on the outside and medium pink on the inside. Fell in love with this at my first try and I’ve been coming back! Love it!
$22 for this plate serving 4 pax, the flavour is strong enough to just pair this with a bowl of white rice! Top up with a bowl of salty veg duck soup (almost every table in the coffeeshop has one) to perfect your meal! This oily mess is definitely not healthy, but shiok ah! #burpple #burpplesg #shelovesfoodsg #shiok
