Icy Treat Nice cozy spot to chill with family and friends. They serve a range of delectable Korean bingsu, from traditional injeolmi bingsu to durian mango bingsu. In picture: Black Sesame Bingsu w/ almond flakes and red bean (RM15.90). The texture of the shave ice is surprisingly flaky and soft, and has the right level of sweetness. Apart from bingsu, they offer 100% natural ice cream and sorbet too. Though pricey for shaved ice, I would be back to try the other flavours.

For Light and Milky Bingsu This massive Mango Cheese Bingsu (RM16.90) is a gorgeous bowl of caramelised mangoes, cubes of perfectly baked cheesecake, raisins and a scoop of mango ice cream. What wow-ed me the most was the texture of the shaved ice, which struck the perfect balance between flaky and milky. It is definitely one of the best bingsus I’ve had.

For Mango Korean Bingsu This massive bowl of Mango Cheese Bingsu (RM16.90) came nearly arranged with caramelised mangoes, cubes of nicely done cheesecake, raisins and a scoop of mango ice cream. What wow-ed me was probably the cleverly executed shaved ice texture. It had the perfect balance of flakiness and milkiness - definitely one of the best ones I've had.

New York Style Pizza New York style pizza is a hand tossed pizza, with a wide base and medium to thin crust. New York style pizzas are usually sold by the slice which is folded in half and eaten. • The pizzas at mikey's pizza can be ordered as a whole pie or done half-half. The Mama's Wild Mushroom Pizza had great earthy flavourful bites, which for pizza, the simpler the better. The Tony Soprano Pizza was layered with many types of beef, including been mince and beef slices, most likely flank. For the guys, the Meatball Pizza (RM10.88) is as its name suggests, a pie topped with macerated meatballs and a bunch of other stuff that gives it full flavour. Share the Boneless Buffalo Wings (RM8.88) for a finger-lickin' finish to your dinner date.

For Guilt-Free Grilled Cheese Grilled cheese sandos need not be sinful with this spot in Sri Hartamas! The Grilled Cheese Bacon (RM22) sees melted cheddar on toasted bread accompanied by salty bacon and a heaping amount of fresh rocket – the perfectly balance between healthy and indulgent. Wash that down with one of their fresh fruit juices like the orangey Rise ‘N’ Shine (RM11).

Grilled Cheese Bacon (RM22) A guilt-free grilled cheese. This less-greasy option sees toasted bread stuffed generously with fresh rocket, tomato slices and salty bacon. Looks small but actually quite filling. Had it with a orange, carrot and ginger juice to seal the meal.

Watercress Avocado Salmon (RM26) Salty, tasty and super wholesome. Such a good salad to tuck into on carb-free days. It’s seasoned lightly which is great as the other ingredients like salty capers and grilled salmon flakes pack in a whole load of flavour. I shall try to recreate this at home!

For Amazing Coconut Ice Cream Bring out the beach umbrellas please! True to all the good reviews I have heard, the Signature Sangkaya (RM10.50) is terrific. The sundae combines three mini scoops of coconut ice cream, shreds of fresh coconut at the bottom, and unlimited refills of six different types of toppings. Every mouthful is a good balance of creamy and refreshing, with a good mix of textures.

last day in KL recently, had this RM $9.90 MY made TH influenced coconut milk ice cream with choice of 3 toppings - @sangkayacreamery. coconut milk instead of dairy's milk, it does not feel jelak with a clean clear flavour. cupped in a husk, a julienne of coconut flesh buried underneath gives texture and coco overdrive when eat together. totally made for coconut lovers and perfect for a hot weather in BKK now. yea, here to find the mother of all coconut ice cream. lol

These fluffy babies are made to order, and fill the whole place with is buttery aroma when slapped on the griddle. Go for the basics if you feel like something simple (RM8.90), served warm with with butter and maple syrup. For something a little brighter, check out Barrie's Choice (RM12.90), pancakes mixed with berries compote and served with dried cranberries, butterscotch and maple syrup. Pair these sweet treats with a filtered coffee (ask the barista for options) or a cold brew!

Neighbourhood Gem Recently given a facelift, Mollydooker's is a Damansara Heights caffeine vendor with a small selection of curated local food and drink (think The Last Polka ice cream, Smooshie juices, Nuts Enough banana bread). Its well-pulled coffee, clean lines, and the fact that it isn't constantly overflowing with customers (i.e. the acoustics are favourable and there is some element of anonymity) will keep me coming back. A hot chocolate (pictured) is priced at RM9.50.

For a Weekday Rice Bowl Fix Drop by this modern Asian restaurant in Plaza Batai for weekday express lunches over mean rice bowls with stellar protein options – from tender beef to torched unagi, seared ginger salmon and more. Dive straight for the Beef With Seaweed Butter (RM27) and look forward to medium-rare slices of quality beef on seaweed butter rice, served with pickles and fresh veggies. Also good is the Japanese Fried Chicken (RM25) – deep-fried karaage in a creamy butter sauce. Ps. All lunch bowls come with a glass of ice tea.

Japanese Fried Chicken (RM25) Must-order for the chicken lovers. Super crunchy chicken slicked in a butter sauce with curry leaves, served with the same sides as the beef bowl – jammy egg, pickles, charred kailan, edamame and raw purple cabbage. Very satisfying.

For a Late Night Chocolate Treat This bungalow-turned-cake shop in Section 16 that opens till midnight makes it easy to satisfy your late night cravings. Walk along the cake runway to choose from house favourites, such as the Dark Chocolate Mint (RM16.80) and Pandan Coconut Gula Melaka (RM16.80), but be sure to get the indulgent yet balanced Chocolate Ganache with Salted Buttercream (RM16.80). Dessert Till 12am Not midnight eat but it's a dessert place that open till late. Perfect for a Sunday night sugar fix before the Monday blue. Feature the cake runway that you probably have a hard time to pick one or two from the selection of more than twenty variety. Personally enjoy their traditional fruit cake, it totally changed my perspective towards fruit cake. During my recent visit, they did add some hot dishes on their menu as well. Savoury include beef stew or a comfort bowl of congee. Sweets include the waffle that served with ice cream and maple syrup, surprisingly decent.

Lemon Poppy Seed Cake + Chai Latte Great selection of cakes ranging from lemon poppy seed, orange, marble to blueberry and apply crumbles. Had a slice of lemon poppy seed cake paired with a cup or chai latte on my first visit. The cake was amazing - mild citrus flavour with a hint of salt, fluffy with great popping texture. However, the lemon cream was a tad too soft. Think it melted under the display lights. The mild sweetness of chai latte complemented the cakes served.
