Two words: Not Good. It looked like fried oyster and black carrot cake but tasted nothing like it. So plain like amateur cooking, indeed very disappointing. The fried oyster was simply awful.

Truly a top quality double chocolate cake. A bittersweet fine chocolate with multiple layers of sponge cake. The cake is challenging to cut, crumbling through layers of chocolate mousse and cake. Worth every penny!

Step aside Yakun. This is the best Kaya toast in town. My favourite is the ciabatta Kaya toast, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Kaya is excellent too.

Excellent Signature Kohaku Tendon ($15). The portion is generous. I chose the spicy option and instantly love it. You can also choose the using version, which serves with udon instead of rice.

I was transformed back to the 90s when I stepped foot into this quaint coffeeshop. I came to try the legendary coffee with butter (kopi gu you), which was rich and fragrant. I was even more impressed by the Kaya toast, which in my humble opinion, tasted even better than Yakun's. The half boiled eggs were big and fresh. A satisfying set for 2 cost only a paltry $6.40. I'm sure this is my first of many more visits to come.

Many may not realise that Redman at Star Vista serves Japanese meals. And the quality is as good as, if not even fresher than it's next door neighbour, Sushi Tei. This chirashi only costs $12.90. Worth every penny.

This isn't your typical Korean meal with BBQ or kimchi soup. It's a fusion between Western and Korean.

Enjoyed the Sirloin Bap (it's so good), Mac and Cheese, Honey Drumlets (not so much the Spicy Drumlets) and Bulgogi Sidewinders (very big portion for sharing).

Cheerful service staff and great ambience. Definitely will visit again.

Love the almond croissant, it's crispy and yummy! The coffee beans are from Toby's Estate, therefore the coffee is rich and fragrant. Ordered the chicken pie too but I wasn't impressed, I thought it was a tad too salty for my liking. Not all ABC outlets have good customer service, but this Metropolis branch definitely radiated good vibes.

Stumbled upon this humble cafe that specialises in lasagne. I was blown away by the modest looking yet delicious beef and chicken lasagne. The garlic focaccia was extraordinary too.

A customer next to me was distracted by work and left his served lasagne untouched for a while longer. The kindhearted cafe owners took the initiative to ask that customer if he would like them to warm up the lasagne. With such excellent good service, coupled with tasty menu, I could see myself returning very soon.

Love how thick the kopi was. The Kaya was very fragrant, even better than Yakun's Kaya. Two thumbs up.

This concoction is baffling. The orange and lime slices make it challenging to drink up. There are many interesting choices, but perhaps give this orange/lime combo - $5.20 - a miss next time.

This tendon is absolutely value for money and delicious. Priced at $13.90, it is served with chawanmushi, miso soup and tendon (2 prawns, 2 chicken pieces, 1 onsen egg, 1 mushroom, 1 corn, 1 pumpkin and 2 greens). However, we didn't realize that the hot green tea was $3.80 each as there was no drink menu, the waitress casually mentioned to us to order drinks. Had we know, we would have ordered other drinks. Be mindful of it.
