My first try at another outlet of Keisuke Ramen, this time at Tonkotsu King Four Seasons along Bugis Village.
Interestingly, their menu consists of ramen based on 4 seasons. The basic tonkotsu ramen is the same for all seasons, with only a different additional ingredient to each season's ramen.
Mummy had the Summer Version with seaweed (S$12.90 + S$1), which had an additional chunk of Chilli into it.
My sis and I had the Autumn version, mine with flavoured egg (S$12.90 + S$2) and hers with seaweed (S$12.90 + S$1). Our unique addiction was a chunk of minced meat with mushrooms, which tasted flavourful and nice on its own, but quickly disappeared upon stirring into the soup.
Mummy and I didn't quite like our ramen for the strong porky taste. I much prefer the chicken-based broth @ the Amara Hotel outlet.
I had their signature boneless chicken Jjimfak lunch set (S$12.90++) which came with rice and drink.
The boneless chicken is braised using Korean soya sauce, together with onions, carrots, potatoes, glass potato noodles and dried chilli.
The chunks of potato and carrots are also simmered till soft and flavourful. The glass potato noodles absorbs the sauce, and is really flavourful and chewy.
The main "lead" boneless chicken is really tender and flavourful. I love it!
I thought the veggie actually tasted better than my fried mochi lol.
Her azuki latte wasn't too bad, though it has more of a milk taste than the red bean flavour.
My treat this time round after so many treats from her.
This is my fried mochi udon which came in a lunch set (S$13.90++) consisting of a drink (I chose Hoji Latte which is quite nice). Didn't quite like the fried mochi which I thought was too "flour-ly". I think mochi are better for desserts. But love the udon and the clear soup which is something not too heavy for lunch.
This week feels like somehow of a long week cos of the busy start of the week.
This was Sunday's dinner situation, which is also the actual day for Mother's Day. Dishes were a little on the bland side I feel, but was highly raved by his Brother.
My fave has got to be the prawn paste chicken wings, which are nicely flavoured! I also had my first try at Indian Rojak. And I was told this rendition is from a famous stall. So basically how you eat this is to dip the fried food (potato, egg, prawn party) into the sweet-spicy sauce. The sauce is pretty good, but really sinful with so much fried stuff!
Bill came up to be around $85. Pretty affordable but it was really hot that day that got us all perspiring after the meal.
Really cheesy and sinful combo, but it's really nice 👍👍 Once in a while, it's ok to indulge right? Haha!
Baby chose his usual creamy spaghetti choice - bacon carbonara topped with egg (S$17). I tried, and it's actually quite nice! Just that I don't fancy so much creamy pasta nowadays.
And they are really quite nice I would say! Besides the fragrant yet light cheese filling, there's salted egg sauce hidden beneath which flows out upon heating it. Love this sweet and savory combination lots!
I always go for their traditional coconut ice-cream (S$4.90 for 2 scoops + 3 normal toppings + cup of coconut water). I also realised they have a new flavour, Thai Milk Tea upon reaching their new outlet @ Suntec. And so I had one scoop each of Coconut (original) and Thai Milk Tea.
Thai Milk Tea flavour was fragrant, but I still prefer my usual coconut (original) flavour! 😋😋 Definitely great for such a scorching weather like now!
But somehow they gave us smaller crab this time round. Ours was SGD58 for 1 crab.
Chilli crab sauce was a little too spicy for us this time. But as usual, we love dipping the fried mantou in to soak up the sauce. 👍👍
I love the flavourful soup which was boiled for hours using kampung chickens. Tender chicken meat + flavourful soup = ❤️❤️ Only gripe is that it should have come in different sizes instead of only one big pot, which feeds 10 people. So for only 5 of us, we had second helpings of soup and dumplings. Lol.
Spinach tofu (SGD14) - This was surprisingly better than the one we had the previous night. But somehow this loses to Carlton Hotel's rendition.
