Beef Burger 25++ One of the better beef burgers. It's really juicy and the inside was a perfect medium rare. Slightly heavy handed on the mustard, and could do w a bit more flavour. Nonetheless pretty good, no regrets ordering this. Friend said wolf burger has a cheaper and better wagyu burger tho

Ricotta Jam Toast 8.5++ Ricotta and the multigrain bread were fine, the jam had a nice tartness and it's nice, as well as quite rare to see manuka honey used. You can taste it immediately

Sticky Date Pancakes And Banoffee Crepes I was really looking forward to dessert and Bécasse didn't disappoint - rich, sticky butterscotch/toffee sauce, galore this was. Our only gripe? The slightly rubbery crepes.

Massive Coffee Cravings..... Again. The plain and unpretentious coffee spot, serving up delicious caffeine shots to caffeine-starved souls like us. Special shout-out to their Generra ($5.50), mocha with orange zest (they're got an orange peel to prove it!), which was fragrant, smooth, creamy and slightly chocolatey. Perfect for orange chocolate fans. The Plain is located along Craig Road, just down the road from Selfish Gene cafe. Nearer train station being Outram Park MRT.

Dean's Breakfast If you like Vegemite with its absurd-yet-intriguing saltiness you'll like this, I think.. Nice combi with the poached eggs and Iced Generra.

Iced Generra Mocha with a twist of orange. So refreshing as the sun was scorching hot. Not pictured is Dean's Breakfast: poached eggs on melted cheese & Vegemite sourdough toasts. So Aussie. Whether you'll like the dish is another issue, if you like how Vegemite tastes you might like the toast.. The café has a vast collection of Monocle magazine too! It was not so crowded when I came on Saturday afternoon. A conducive place to eat followed by leisurely reading some magazines (or chatting with friends).

Chirashi Don The don was really not bad with the sides as buffet. The whole set at $17.90 nett. The sashimi in Don was pretty fresh and the variety was 👍🏻 However the cleanliness of the cafe was mehhh, with obvious stains on the tablecloth. Bara chirashi w Snow Crab Superb amount of fresh sashimi with free flow of sides & drinks.

Bara Chirashi Don $17.60 Hanare is teppei's sister chain, so the chirashi don is good as always, but I just didn't understand why they used hot rice in the bara chirashi bowl. I was a bit disappointed by that, but overall the sashimi pieces were still well marinated and the side dishes provided were decent.

Dinner sets at Burgers VS Wings last night: Pan-fried Fish Burger with Spicy Tomato Salsa set and Chicken and Chopped Slaw Burger set. Each set consists of a burger, two Naked Wings, fries and soft drink. Both our sets were S$17.90 each and there is no service charge! I like both their Sweet Potato Fries and Cheese Fries! The Naked Wings were a bit tasteless though. Burgers win Wings 🍔🍔🍔

Tyson Peanut Butter ($21.90+). Peanut butter in a burger?—An angus beef patty, bacon, sunny side up egg, cheese and tomato smothered with peanut butter between a brioche bun… The peanut butter part got question marks popping my in my mind. But from the first bite I knew this would be a burger I'd need to go back for. The peanut butter isn't overpowering or too crunchy and just adds that hint of aroma and flavour to compliment the juicy beff patty and bacon. Who wants to go BWB? Hotatte Tattaki. Beautiful dish from scallops with a varied range of textures and taste. Loved this much.

Great snack to go with a wine or beer while we chill to the weekend. These crispy fried eel skins were tastefully flavoured with pork floss and garnishes for yummy bites. Liked that they served it warm which made it much more enjoyable. A great dish whether before meal or just with some drinks.

DYOB ($10) Love the cold pasta and teriyaki chicken. Chicken was tender but I think the sauce was a tad too salty.

Salmon Soba Quite disappointing. My soba is soggy and it’s not even drenched with dressing. In fact that’s not enough dressing. I had to go back to add yuzu dressing. The asparagus was almost raw. It’s $12 bucks. Goodness sake. Please don’t abuse customers who patronise you.

salmon poke soba yo this was GROSS. the soba sauce was js gross and not what i was used to (but then agn the standard of soba is the green tea soba from toss n turn). salmon poke was nice but nth amazing. expensive. yum: 4/10

Mentaiko salmon pasta Loved the sauce! So tasty and the salmon was cooked only partially through, so it was soft and moist.

One for one pasta Tried the mentaiko salmon carbonara with ebiko Love this pasta! The mentaiko and carbonara combination always work It feels a little Jelat but disappears so quickly when it’s shared. Tried their coffees as well — like the dirty sesame and iced latte. Spent around $80 for two sandwiches and two pasta (2 one for one deals) and 4 drinks so a great meal!

Paella (1 serving: S$28, 2 servings: S$39) I suggested to Cat that we try J's for dinner as part of our Entertainer app adventures. The warm fluffy saffron rice dish with marinated chicken, tilapia and salmon is perfectly moist and aromatic. The chicken was amazingly tender and the chunks of salmon was so so fresh! We'd love to go back again for the delicious paella that wins in terms of fuss-free eating and taste.

Churros with Banana & Mango Churros layered with salted caramel bananas, fresh mangoes & coconut infused. It was a bit too creamy for me! ($12)
