Today I tried the promotional dish, Secreto Don, for lunch. It consists of pork jowl don with onsen egg, cabbage salad and miso soup. The price is just $10.90 before GST and service charge, making it economical for a generous portion. The food is delicious and the pork jowl is tender. Moreover, the salad makes the meal well balanced and the chilli sauce enhances the taste of the pork.
This is one of the dishes for the value set lunch from 11am to 5pm which I ate today. The set comes with salad and free flow of drinks at the drink bar. The meal costs $8 nett and the baked tumeric rice is tasty. The chicken is also tender and the creamy garlic goes well with tumeric rice.
Today, the dish that I ordered contains 4 pieces of charsiew with corn, onsen egg and 2 okra sticks. It also comes with a plate of tofu in peanut sauce and a cup of ice lemon tea. When I mixed the udon with the black sauce at the bottom of the bowl, it made the udon more appetising. In addition, the meat is very tender and I like the fact that the egg yolk is runny when I cut the egg in half. However, the price is a bit high at $15.90++. Overall, the dish tastes delicious even without soup and is worth trying if you can afford it.
Today, I ordered sliced pork curry rice with scrambled egg and vegetables at Sing HK Kitchen in Food Republic. The meal costs $9.30 and the pork is tender. The curry is just slightly spicy and it adds flavour to the dish. The egg that covers the rice also makes the dish look more presentable. Overall, the food is delicious and I will rate this dish 9/10.
I ordered a bowl of beef noodles at Oriental Chinese Restaurant yesterday and the beef is both tender and tasty. However, the dish looks a bit plain and the portion is quite small for me. This dish costs $5.50, but I realised that there is a minimum spending of $10 per person imposed at this restaurant, so my friends and I had to order more than we initially planned. I will rate this dish 6.5/10.
Today, I ordered papaya soup with chicken chop for my lunch. The papaya and vegetables are fresh and make the soup both tasty and nutritious. In addition, the chicken chop is tender and crispy. This meal costs $10.90 before GST and service charge. The papaya soup is one of Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe's specialty and I will rate this dish 9/10. It's definitely worth trying again.
Today, I ordered chicken kebab with butter rice for my dinner. The chicken is well cooked and very tender, and the butter rice enhances the flavour of the dish. The dish costs $9.00 and the portion is just right for me. There are also other combinations of kebab dishes such as chicken or beef kebab with fries, wrap and pita bread that are also worth trying.
